Maybe each week a different forum user could have a turn at deciding the playlist. I also think it would be cool to have a multimedia section where people can post links to videos, or the actual videos, that they think are cool and art related. Such as interviews with artists, how-to videos, etc. Forum users could also upload their own personal videos. In the multimedia section there would also be an area to upload and download original music, or "mixes." A portfolio section where users could post their portfolios and recieve feedback and suggestions from the forum. Having a good portfolio can make the difference between getting or not getting work. Team draw-offs. Draw-offs consisting of 3 person teams, a penciler, an inker, and a colorist. Each individual is only allowed to do their individual part. The other team members can give suggestions, but they can't do anything for the other person. Individuals would also be able to be on multiple teams, at the cost of increasing their own workload. The catch is you can't do the same job twice. In other words if you are a penciler on one team, you can't be a penciler on any other team. This would help people get used to working with other people in a collabrative effort. Now my non-artist self will go back to my hole.

I also want to implement a commissions thread just incase. I posted a bulletin on myspace about taking commissions and that gave me the idea to add it here. I can add a jukebox player (like the one some users on myspace pop on their page, you know, the one with multiple song tracks they added?) using simple html. This would only work for the front pages though and the music would stop right when you go in a thread. Great suggestions, expect to see some of these up soon. Its good time for experimentation. Even the music thing.

Maybe if the forum opened as a new page from the home page, and then the player could just play in the background or something. I don't really know much about that stuff, or even if other people would dig on it. I just like music, and I think it goes hand in hand with artwork and creativity. The commissions thread is an excellent idea, as long as you don't get swamped with work. LOL It might be cool just to even have it where anybody can post original art for sale. I guess it just depends on if you're wanting to promote yourself more, or everyone in general. I don't think there's anything wrong with self-promotion, I mean it is your site and your work going into it. I know Artsta sells some of his stuff, but he does it on his own private site, so maybe keeping it limited to your stuff (Nar) would be better for this particular site. Then if others wanted to sell some of their stuff or do commissions, they could just link up their webpages to this one or something. It all goes back to the original idea of networking and keeping it in the extended family. It might also be kind of cool to sell some of your artwork as t-shirt and poster prints. Or even doing NCU gear in general.

Simplest way to do it: have the NCU banner at the top of the page in it's own frame (one that doesn't change when you visit various posts in the forums) and run the jukebox from there. The forum itself would have to be in a bottom frame. Since chatarea hosts the forum, the only way I can think of doing this would be to run the banner/jukebox/top frame from your site (narcomics.net) and the forum from chat area would have to load in the bottom frame.

The only thing i did was put the music player on my main site, in which the message board window pops up in a separate window, leaving the music playing in the background. I know how it works so im fine doing it this way, but i also know that some users here, come in directly through this very site's link and not the main website.
