replied on: 11/1/2007 5:54:56 PM Hey Phantro have you heard of the upcoming Ultimatium storyline thats coming up (its advertised on the front cover of the new ultimate power) its going to be drawn by Dave Finch it sounds awesome and promises to change the ultimate universe forever instead of simply "ultimizing" old storylines and characters. Thats what I love about the ultimate universe it has tremendous potential its a sandbox that new ideas can be explored and characters arent bogged down by 50+ years of continuity. The only ultimate comics that have fully lived up this sandbox is ultimates (although ultimate spiderman is pretty close and really enjoyable.) |

replied on: 11/2/2007 5:15:00 PM yeah i saw it but had no clue what it was i actuallly love the ultimates and several Ultimate Fantastic Four Ultimate Xmen and Spiderman had great beggining stories then i lost interest man they werent as cool anymore to me Ultimate Xmen was great in its Return to Weapon X saga then after that i feel it wasnt as great Ultimate power and ultimate galactus were amazing stories as well so ultimatum is what exactly man? do you know? im curious now hahah |

replied on: 11/2/2007 8:06:51 PM I dont know the specfics on ultimatium but it has something to do I think with the origins of all the ultimate characters being somehow related. As for Ultimate Fantastic Four I loved its begining stories with the N-zone and when millar and land worked on the book. The zombie arc was terrific and ended superbly when doom and mr fantastic switched minds(if you read that story it had one of the coolest fights I have ever seen.) Lately tho the book hasnt caught my interest not a big fan of the artist on the book now and the stories are kinda lame now I think but at least they are large ideas. Ultimate Galactus was pretty cool and had a kickass design to boot. |

replied on: 11/2/2007 9:24:23 PM yeah i read the zombies one, i agree it was amzing. the Namor One was cool as hell i think that was my favorite one the Annuals with art by jae lee and the skrull invasion... Oh i also read the one where they go to a warlike planet and there were a few resistance fighters that were plant based life forms i think the art is pretty cool, i like the cartoony style it has lately but the storiesof late, like the one with silver surfer was not very action packed so yeah lately its been declining storywise hey Ultimate power number 8 was friggin amazing i dont know much about squadron supreme im assuming they would be something like what the Ultimates are to The avengers (alternate more modernized versions of their classic comic book hero types) im somewhat thinkinf the avengers may show up in ultimate power 9 or in ultimatum wanna bet its going to be the ultimate universe fighting the regular universe? |

replied on: 11/2/2007 9:34:06 PM I could see them doing that but i think marvel is trying very carefully to seperate the marvel universe from the ultimate universe. So if they do that theyll be similar to the avengers but not exactly the avengers. But it looks to me like instead of doing that it looks like the Hulk is going to smash the place up. Which Im okay with.
