That was issue 3. That scene was awesome. It was cool showing the military being a credible threat to the hulk for once.

WORLD WAR HULK!!!
replied on: 12/8/2007 6:12:52 AM

yeah man you are
World War Hulk was very bad ass man
I will try my best not to ruin it for anyone but just in case:

"Spoilers comming"

not really, but see hulk has been in another planet for quite some time thanks to the actions of Dr Strange, Reed Richards, Black Bolt and Tony Stark.

basically this elite of heroes tricked Dr banner into getting on to a space ship and sent him to another planet where he cant do any harm and live out his life in peace.

the thing is he never made it there, instead he ended up in a planet full of creatures that are just as bad ass as he is . and not only that, hulk loves it there... the next thing you know, the Gladiator movie plays out, but instead of russel crowe you have the hulk and a series of bad ass events occur resulting in hulk becomming the emperor of that planet, he gets married and is about to have a kid when BAM... that ship he came in remeber? had a nuclear device that destroyed most of the already unstable planet and killed millions including his wife and unborn child.

so now the survivors (who call themselves the warbound) travelled to earth to get revenge and kick some major ass... oh and did i mention The blast just made hulk a lot stronger?

so thats all i am saying

go read the rest
its out in your local shop and it just finished.
the entire story arc, was it like 5 issues or so? i dont remember

but a damn good read man

So far, issues 1 through 3 have kept me on my toes. Im currently buying issues 4 and 5 to complete this little story arc.
I was never a fan of Romita's work because I never was around to become exposed to his art, but he definitely knows how to capture a cinematic "still" inside each of his panels.

Good stuff. Much better than X-Men Messiah Complex IMHO.

from messiah complex i have to say i like the art bachalo did, the story not so much honestly
but the art from chapter five (Xmen issue 205) blew me away. its more cartoony than anything but i dig that sort of art . the one by silvestry was ok for me, i liked his art better in Xmen : For tomorrow. PErhaps it was the colorist in this one that really did not make it work for me or who knows

WWH was action packed man

enjoy it

I picked up the 5 issues of World War Hulk and I'm waiting to read them because I ordered the Planet Hulk book online and want to read that first. Those WWH covers are awesome, can't wait to read it. I'm just now getting back into Marvel comics after not having read them in a LONG time. X-Men was my book as a kid, but I stopped reading after they came out with too many titles. Any recommendations for some more recent X-Men books to check out? Messiah Complex seems to not be getting very good reviews.

messiah complex is ok, not awesome. the art is good though if you are interested in that.

a great read would be Ultimate X volume one: The tomorrow people.

its like a more contemporary remake of the Xmen universe, no need for any background knowledge or continuity. its an awesome read.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out Messiah Complex for the art. I like Bachalo's work and it sounds like he's doing the art so I'll give it a go. I did pick up a few of the early issues of Ultimate X-Men back when they came out, but I never read that whole first story arc. I'll have to check that out too.

yeah bachalo is amazing
i love his work

about ultimate Xmen, both first story arcs are amazing

The tomorrow people, Return to Weapon X, are great story arcs. Ultimate war is pretty damn good too.

other than that i think the rest of it is weaker in comparison but i hear it is picking up with a new ultimate apocalypse saga so it might turn out to be great.

now i am a very big fan of The Ultimates, also loved Ultimate Galactus, and the more recent Ultimate Power... Oh

Return to Weapon X was awesome. I loved the art in it and that was a great introduction for me to the bad ass that is wolverine. When he tackled sabretooth over that mountain I was in awe.

dude i agree
my favorite thing in it was how they designed all the members in Weapon X, especially night crawler and sabertooth. hell night crawler is a real bad ass in the first few pages. and the way they added adamantium to sabertooth really in my mind is the way they should have always portray him.

awesome read and great art

oh is the new issue of ultimates out ?

should be this month right?

i cant keep track, i buy way too many comic books

hahah

ohh and how about the ending to Ultimate power?
i liked it alot.

I think Ultimates doesnt come out till around the end of January...

As for the admantium sabretooth...AMAZING!!! He even had his teeth replaced with that and FOUR claws.

Ultimate Power was good, but I was a bit disappointed with the ending although the art was stellar the ending didn't have the important impact I was hoping for. Although Im interested big time in the reappearance of the super skrull do you think thats Ben Grim again or someone else?

I cant wait till Ultimatum if David Finch's interior art looks anywhere near as amazing as the covers hes been doing lately then we're in for one hell of a show!
