Ok, I hadnt seen the latest HULK trailer and I will admit that the shots in the "green grass full light" area, were a lot more fake then the street scene. The facial movements arent nearly as good as in the first, no where near. But I'm not willing to say it's bad, because c'mon, we all know what bad CG looks like, and this is still good work. The CG team just probably didnt have the same tools and or level of expertise as those who worked on the first one. Something I learnt from my roommate is that when CG programs upgrade, you sometimes lose practical and efficient tools because everything is recoded.

(The following is not an attack, PLEASE don't take it as one. It's just a general comment about how 2D artists perceive 3D.)

As 2D artists, we know the harshness of criticism from "outsiders" and get rather insulted when they take our art for granted. This applies to 3D work as well. It takes an enormous amount of work which involves so much coordination between teams and I sometimes feel as though people, not just 2D artists, criticize 3D work as if it's "easy". I'm just writing this as something to think about, so PLEASE do not respond with Pros and Cons or examples to try and prove your point(s), cause I'm not fighting your point.

Im a 3d artist to an extent so i know how much time it would take to do merely the Ironman suit. The thing is they did actuelly use some real parts for the suit, yes most of it was CG but they mixed in just enough real parts at times to make your mind believe it was real. The other thing is the texture artist really like to make things shiny for no reason, i mean the ironman suit was almost glowing at times, im not bashing the film at all id die if i did, but i just want to show something.

Its usuelly the team behind the textures that dont get things perfectly. For example too much shine or not eough darkness. ITS VERY HARD to do like mentioned above, but take your time and do it right. Ironman was near perfect and as close to perfect that ive seen.

As for the hulk i had the same feeling, he just doesnt feel real at all. Im just interested to see a further shot of him and see how that looks. I think its the fact that they got a close up on him that ruined it, and to be honest it looked amazing. I mean it could be worse and how many CG movies of that detail will dare do a close up like that?

Im just happy that norton is playing the hulk, he is going to be an amazing actor and perfect for the roll. Ill be seeing this one as well.

i totally agree with Nar tho. think the CG on this looks worse than the first hulk. I thot that the first hulk was way more convincing. Tho i like the tone and colors better on this version, but he looks really really really fake. Its realy frustrating how fake he looks. He doesnt blend in with the environment, he has too much glare as if his skin is plastic and he moves like an action figure. Plus, did you see when the guy walks up to him and Hulk kicks him...wtf was that.....if hulk were to poke someone with his pinky that person wouldnt be alive anymore, imagine a kick....but no, the guy gets kick directly in the chest, gets sent flying but is still alive.....hmmmmm.......dumb

THANK YOU! Ive noticed all of that too.

Im not saying the movie will be crappy or anything. Im sure theres fans who are going to absolutely love it. But for me, im reaaally waiting for that super realistic Hulk that is going to freak me out as much as "American Werewolf in London" click here to view this awesome example Skip all the way into 3:40 for the transformation sequence. NOW THAT is freaky. No CGI, just plain handy dandy prosthetic and mechanical sfx. LOVE IT!
I imagine an awesome faster sequence with Hulk. Man that would just be soo bad ass.

But anywho, back on topic, Ironman is my favorite superhero movie for 2008 and im not sure if even Batman is going to change that. Then again... with Heath Ledger's performance as Joker, im going to just have to reserve my prediction.

Well yes. Make us all feel guilty Kate! LOL JK...no but, you are right. I do eventually take things with a grain of salt and its nothing against the artist themselves since theyre usually told what to do and how to do it too, im thinking.

But my opinion only strives to see the very best of the best for a very loved character of the Marvel Universe.

I am also really looking forward to the Dark Knight. 2008 may end up being the best year for hero movies ever!

i saw ironman last sunday, and man was that ever amazing!! i was seriously impressed.

robert was the perfect choice for tony stark. i can't think of anyone better to of played that role.

and the suit was so tight!!

i'd never seen gweneth paltrow act before, but she did a pretty great job as pepper i think. the teasing between the two was great.

i too am a lil' wary of a avengers movie... although seeing samuel l. jackson as nick fury was the ish!!

Just realized, I haven't posted about Iron Man yet. I saw it the first week it came out and it is AWESOME! I never read Iron Man (always liked the look of the armor though) but after seeing the movie, I want to start reading some of the comics. Robert Downey Jr was fantastic as Tony Stark and really the casting overall was great. I can't wait til this is out on DVD either, but I really want to see it in the theater again! IMO, Iron Man is the best live-action comic movie ever made.

I went to see Ironman with my wife last week and we both loved it!! I'd say it's one of the best comic to movie adaptations ever. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for the role of Tony Stark. I'm glad the director meant for Ironman to be a trilogy because he mentioned putting Mandarin and Fin Fang Foom in the next movies. How cool it that?!?

Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that director Jon Favreau has reached a deal with Marvel Studios to direct Iron Man 2, which is targeted for an April 30, 2010 release.

Robert Downey Jr. had a sequel clause in his contract so he's on board. We assume that Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow will return as well.

Budgeted for about $140 million, the first film has earned a massive $563.8 million worldwide.
