replied on: 11/19/2007 10:17:13 AM I was looking for this thread. I think the change in fonts does a lot for the room. It might look like it doesn't work because the rest of the room is not changed yet. So Yay for me. * Pads NAR on the Back* Good Job Man!

replied on: 11/20/2007 1:53:52 PM I like it too. But I think its a bit big for the images that seperate each catagory. Id say youre on the right path, just make the images bigger so as not to lose them in a sea of large font. Very cool though. |

But I like how youve been changing things up around here and Im getting used to seeing the new fonts. They are cool looking Im thinkin that Ill get used to it over time. Cant wait to see what other changes you have in store!

replied on: 11/20/2007 6:23:57 PM I felt the same exact way dude. I think Im gonna tinker with it a bit, perhaps, make them a little small, loosen up on the gradient and minimize the stroke outline. Im kinda getting used to em too. What's also missing, is their underline which divided them from the description below each title. |

They're not as loud yet visible enough to understand on my 1280x1024 screen size. Please let me know what you think. Oh yeah.. I made changes with the "new" icon keys.

This new font is also cool, subtle as well. The new icons are cool but I feel as if it's missing something......am I being too analytical  .....Does this pencil make me look fat?...Sorry wrong topic

replied on: 11/21/2007 1:10:36 PM I LOVE the new icons!! Very badass!! I like how its different ones depending on what page youre on. I like this font a lot more then the previous one. I agree that you need the underline, but Id say you should have the underline closer to the title. Also, the black space above the titles makes it look empty for nothing and kinda squishes the text to the bottom of the rectangle. By getting rid of that black space and minimizing the space between the title and its underline, youd create a new black space between the title and the category description, which would look cool, imo. Since the icons look good at that size, Id say either center the text in the rectangle or have it aligned with the top. Im aware that im mentionning details that you will probably tweek anyway when youve decided on a font, but I figured id say it anyway. Oh another thing... when you chose a font, will you apply it to all the text in the pages except from the image boxes?? Cause as it is, it works fine on the front page, but once youre in a catagory, the contrast in the top right corner, telling you which category youre in, doesnt work. Maybe just by getting rid of the underline for that one section would make it fit much better. As it was already mentionned... I really think its cool that youre taking the time to spice up the forum even if youre so busy. Very very cool. |

replied on: 11/21/2007 2:04:01 PM Thanks for the feedback Kate. Heres the thing. This service is limited to the administrator's expansions he slowly upgrades from time to time. The only thing I can do, is edit fonts and images but Im sort of stuck when it comes to moving them around. Thats why I had to work with what I had and try to play things off. lol.. Thats why youre seeing the font edit when your inside a thread on the top right. Its automatically grabbing it from the main page and theres no way for me to stop it from doing that yet. The underline was another issue. I also wanted to bring it closer to the title, but since the title has parts of the lower cased letter dragging below, it looked awkard when they cut through the line. So I opted to keep them hovering at a small hight. I was hoping it would work. Not perfect by any means though. The black space above the title however, was actually a decision I made because when I first popped the fonts, it was really hard to focus on each topic. Like it all sort of blurred in together. A yellow blotch. So I though some separation was in good order. It could be that im just getting old and my vision is really mushing up. Darn it!  For now, Im gonna give it a rest and may pick up again after the winter bs. lol. Thanks again! And if anyone wants to say something about the site's new cosmetics, feel free.
