Ok pals! Heres a really fun project Im working on as fast as I can!
The main sketch (i wish i took wip shots prior to getting this far dammit!) took me about 10 minutes. The flats took me about another 20 minutes, then I jumped in the head for 3 hours straight, working as fast as I could, then left it alone for a couple of days due to work coming in.
I relaxed my paint time down to an additional 2 hours forming the highlights and neck/trapezius details and am now feeling more comfortable with the pen to finish the rest much sooner.

I'm desparately trying to get the hang of this tablet. I also decided on Spawn to be my second project because he's almost completely a mono chromatic figure and its so much more easier working with midtones and highlights, shadows etc, when working with a B&W image than something that begins in full color. Im also kinda pretending I got hired to make a movie concept based off the original movie design with some comic book elements . I will be adding the armor as soon as I fix things all around. (NOTE. this may change drastically upon completition)

I will post more pics soon bros! Till then, lets all keep rocking with our wacom! Any questions or comments is encouraged.

I will tell you how I did the strokes and what not soon enough so we can all get this whole digital art medium going!
Rock on amigos!

Wow this is really cool. I have this feeling like your pictures are on the verge of becoming more insanely good than pictures have ever been before hehe

One little thing though, I know it's not finished yet, but I wonder about the light you have coming from above leaving the highlights on the top of his head. I really like the lights coming from the right. But the light from the top seems to be detracting from the nice shape and making it look a little flat, especially with the front of the head so dark. I don't really know, maybe you just haven't finished that part yet. But I just think at the moment it might look just as good without so much light from the top. less is more kinda thing.

WOW! How are you already amazing at this man. I cant wait to see more.

Love the vein work and the detail in the face is incredible.

What size are your working at it seems like your working pretty big as for me Im working relatively small and zooming in, but it seems like the technique your using is even better for detail.

Thanks bruddas!

Smacks, Im totally with ya about the lighting. Im hoping I can fix it all once the entire body is complete. That sh-t is hard man, lol. I dont know how you did it with your MK entry. You nailed it sharp!

Surf, thanks man .

Heres the process. In the beginning, I actually began working on a 600dpi canvas at maximum size. After realizing i couldnt go bigger, i made the file size 300dpi resolution and enlarged the canvas back to the size it was at 600dpi (not the resolution, just the canvas size) and the file memory size was much smaller and faster to work with.

At first, this was only to be spawn's head. But then decided I wanted to do the entire body.

So there you have it. This one is actually relatively much simpler than I thought it would be in terms of detail. Again, only because its black and white.

My biggest challenge awaits me. A full on God Of War splash. YIKES!

Keep rocking with it and move as fast as you can. Once you get used to the speed, it doesnt feellike your rushing anymore.
In the near future, Im hoping to pull stuff like this off in no more than 4 hours. Hoping for 3 hours actually.hmmm... thats a scary goal. haha..

Thanks guys, anymore questions, comments, appreciated.

I agree. That is the only possible explanation. NAR IS AN ALIEN... A LATIN ALIEN (no immigration joke implied, please imagine a little green man with a latin twist)

Your excitement for your new toy is making you rock it so incredibly well! Im often impressed by what you do, but this is just insane.

haha..silly willies.

Thanks.

Im a bit busy with a bunch of other stuff, but squueezed in more work over the spawn figure.

Im slapping on his armor and chains on separate layers to give me an idea where I should take the definitions of his body.
So far, Im liking where its going.

I changed my direction of production, getting rid of many of the meaty strands on his body until I get the lighting down better much like i did with his head. This baby is high rez and huge in size. About door poster size actually.
I may need to scale it down a bit if I begin to experience serious lag on my computer.

Im running a 3GB Ram with 3.4Ghz HT Intel processor with 70 something GB Sata 10,000rpm hardrive and 120GB sata 72,000rpm drive in 3 partitions. ...<_<

My old computer wouldnt have supported the head of spawn, let alone his body.

Thanks guys. Im not sure about the weapons on this particular model. Im sort of just doing it as a conceptual piece. BUT, I do definitely plan to do another and another and ANOTHER!! With weapons and demons!

And no coffee for me sir. I stopped drinking that stuff years ago.
Hehehe, seriously, coffee makes me jitter. My body feels very uncomfortable when i drink coffee. Like I cant sit straight without gettin jumpy.

Im all water, teas and juice. Occasionally, a soda popper here and there.

Lookin' good, sir. I'm glad you got rid of the excess skin detail to take care of the lighting properly. Doin it all super fast is one thing, but doing it right is another.

Its really awesome to see how this is being built up!

Now Im gonna get picky... Is there a particular reason why you chose to paint him in a standing, character design type pose? I know this is new for you as a medium, but you understand anatomy and lighting so well already, Im just curious to know why you wouldnt go for a dynamic pose?
