Assassin's Creed - Game Review

Assassin's Creed

I felt it was a good game. Was kind of different then what i thought it would be. You start off in the future, not the past as a character named Desmond Miles. And what you actually do is get in this machine called the Animus to go into the memories of your dead ancestor Altiar.

You are kidnapped by this company who's basically forcing you to do this so they can retrieve this artifact. Sounds like something off of "Alias" heh. You only have contact with 2 characters while you're Desmond, Lucy who's played by Kristen Bell which is really kind of cool cause the character looks just like her.

Very good graphic's. I'd say it's just above Gears of War but below Cod 4. Another nice feature is that finally every darn character in a game doesn't look a like. You play games like GTA, Scarface, True Crimes and other free-roam games and you'll always see the game person like 100 times. Well in this game, even if you do they seem different for some reason. And when you go to different cities the ppl are dressed differently as they should be.

Another very cool thing about the game is climbing buildings and reaching high points. although alot of the time they look the same, some of them are really different when it comes to high points and it's just awesome getting to the top and doing a eagles dive off. I'm still looking forward to the game that will let you go into all the buildings.

While the game looks spectacular, it does fall short at times. The mini-missions for one, there's only like 6 different ones you can do and they are all very easy and get boring after doing them repeatedly.

The fighting is pretty awesome, but not until the 2nd mission when you unlock counter-kills. Those are freakin' amazing! I never got tired of doing them. The trailer featured a cross-bow which was replaced by throwing knives, but the cross-bow would of been pretty darn sweet.

I'd say the game was pretty epic/controversial. It's not really controversial until the end when you look up the meaning behind it. Which is another annoying thing, the ending was fairly easy and then doesn't make any sense... Until you look it up on the internet. unfortunately the fight BEFORE you get to the final boss is the most epic...

Still though, I thought the game was decent, it's a very long game if you do ALL the missions, gather flags, and reach all the high points.

While I had fun playing it, I'd say it's one of those game's you could wait until it hit's the Xbox 360 Platinum Hits. I got it for $20 so I'm not really complaining, but I wouldn't bother buying this at full price. Kind of like Max Payne 2, not really worth the $50 I dropped on it, but still fun. I am however looking forward to the sequel of Assassin's Creed though.

im not done playing it yet, but so far i like it. I just finished the longest memory strand, The one with the 3 different bosses. So far, the story i think is lacking tho. Its too much of the same story told in different ways....hopefully the ending brings sense to me. The silver thingermajigger that supposidly gave powers to certain people in history seems to be interesting to see what hapens with that.
