By the look of the lead texture, it almost seems as if youre using either a regular yellow #2 pencil or possibly a mechanical drafting pencil. This is a nice shot and im more intrigued by the center object due to the choice of head positioning. Those can be tough. A small tip when doing shots like that, try not to forget that the face is slightly round and not flat like a wooden board. When tilting the head up, the eyes slightly droop on each end, top lip becomes more dominant than the bottom one and the years drop down to cheek level. This makes for a very nice try at making the center stand out from the rest. Cool camera angle as well.

replied on: 5/20/2008 2:45:56 AM Heres a sort of similar example of how I'd approach your powerful shot to add a bit more drama in the piece itself. Rather than having just the head tilted, I went ahead and slightly shifted the perspective a tiny bit. I hope this helps some. Sometimes the tiniest camera movement, can make a whole lot of difference! If you'll notice, in red, since the camera is placed closer to the bottom, near the mid section of the female alien, the rest had to have the upper extremeties altered to fit that dimension just a bit more. Or else, theyd look misplaced or perhaps cut outs compositioned in their current state. And unless thats what youre going for, Id recommend changing it up just a tad bit. And I didnt really bother using correct procedures to execute this as that would painfully strip away that wonderful comic book energy your piece has.

replied on: 5/20/2008 7:24:19 PM Wow !!!!!!some great C&C Nar.....I'll work on that angle and try and do another full piece....I was trying to put a small sketch book together for the HotDog Man ,to have an intro to the series. Oh Nar I use anything from a mech pencil to #2 yellow with sharp tip.I like the mech pencils due to the size of the lead.its good for drawing lots of small details....
