Dont tell me they killed off Batman now!
I dont have time to research it right now but a friend of mine told me that DC killed off Batman to replace him (bruce wayne) with someone else to wear the suit.

Is this bleepin'true!?

There is a lot of rumors surrounding this storyline and seeing that the storyline just started nobody really knows for sure if he is going to die its all just speculation right now but i think big changes are in store for batman regardless. I really hope they dont kill him off and RIP is just the title to draw people in and buy the book.

he will never die
no one in comics ever do

its just a story arc where they probably will fake his death

Thats exactly what Im griping about.
They need to stop doing that and come up with BETTER ideas.
Retelling old myths even. Whatever, just stop killing and reviving staple characters already.

In the description it says "somebody" is going to die so its probably another main charecter and batman is being abused right now thanks to the new writers. Its supposed to be big and im going to be buying everything apart of this because im a huge batman fan, i buy all hsi comics no matter what anyways. So i can keep you updated once i get them, should be next week since im going on break.

I also agree, when they first did the killing it was huge and gained TONS of attention but they cant do it anymore. The minute they braught the charecters back made people go "o whatever then" and now thats what everyone belives will happen. The only way we can have that happen again is have it happen in movies.

What i think they should do is create a whole new charecter from no where, advertise the heck out of him and then after running his issues under top writers have him die. Unlike others dont make him come to life and make it effect the comic book world. This in my opinion would gain TONS more attention than anything.

i love that idea man.
as far as major character deaths
The death of superman was one of the most awesome stories ever in my opinion man.

even when they brought him back i thought it was a cool story. It took about a Year or so to get him back and even after that he was not the same.

well and you have your alternate future stories where they die... but someone fixes the timeline and they prevent all that from happening. ("Days of the future past" and "Age Of apocalypse" for Xmen)

I think the industry should have just stopped with the resurrections after that.

but honestly i cant remember that many major characters that have gone through it though...

lets see, we have:

captain America (who i am sure will be brought back), colossus (who died with the legacy virus and came back) come to mind...

most X-men who have died have stayed dead

other than that i cant think of any other major hero resurrecting.

Bucky, cap's side kick remained dead for many many years (like 40 years or so) before they brought him back as winter soldier.

Villains are the ones that usually come back again and again.

oh... one thing i do love about the Ultimate Marvel Universe is that in those stories every character that has died has stayed dead so far.

if anyone can think of more examples of heroes coming back please post them up here

bats did not die in knightfall
he just was placed on a wheel chair and when he got better he lost all his confidence
so he had to re-train with shiva the asassin
she killed some ancient master with a tengu mask
then she gave the mask to bruce wayne...

he was wearing it and then all the old masters disciples were after him hahahah

cool story

If you ask me Captain America will be back next year around may. Just in time for the movie.

I mena he actuelly got attention in the media when he died, which surprised me, but think about it. They bring him back is like free advertisement with the movie coming out right after that....People have interest in him and they see the movie, there you go lol.

I think the Marvel Civil War was probably the most creative thing that happened in recent years. Superman Doomsday was just amazing, the way it was told just blew my mind. I read it before the movie and my god the movie did justice to it for sure. Could you imagine them doing this in the movie? The whole theatre will cry without a doubt.

I agree on this I think they'll bring him back just to promote the movie and to throw a good twist in his story. Now I did see something with the Invasion storyline, and Cap was in the pages......dont know if its old or new.So its possible they could bring him back that way.

I get so confused with comics and their stories. Like if they do kill em off, what about kingdom come? He was alive in the future. explain how that works. Was it a different reality? AAARGH!!!

Superman actually died for a period, i think he died for a year back in 92'-93' if i'm remembering my comic arc correctly.

yes you are right artsta
i remember "funeral for a friend"

and "A world Without Superman"

and also the whole "Return of superman" was a interesting action packed roller coaster ride when the four supermen showed up
each one claiming or people believing they were superman brought back to life

I remember how Cyborg had a cult following because he had the markings of the battle with doomsday...

then you Had Erradicator who had all the likeness but did not act like superman... he was a lot more violent

Superboy who was a clone

and Steel, who people just assumed he was a Re-incarnation of the man of steel, when in fact it was john henry irons who created a battle suit inspired by Superman

and then you had Lois Lane who was trying to cope with the loss of Clark and Superman in her life.

it is one of the reasons i still read DC, the stories tend to be riveting even if the heroes wear spandex and maintain that classical look.
