Anybody in here reading the Ultimate X-Men comic. Well if you are it turns out that Colossus when he turns to his metal form does not actually have superhuman strength, he has to take some kind of syrum that gives normal humans powers for a while and it gives mutants god like powers.

Looks like the writers are taking a cue from the huge steroid uprising in sports and putting it in comics now. I just thought that was a cool twist.

I think the young avengers Patriot was on something similiar called "MGH" a drug that gives people powers for short periods of time in order to appear to have superpowers... But yea its a cool idea / take.

so he is constantly taking this drug to be able to move in his metal form?

or its just a boost?

if he stops taking it and turns into metal would he be too weak to move around in his metal skin?

just wondering

Basically yes, he is on it constantly. A character in the the book who recruited him to take it said he could barely lift his arms in his metal form. He has been on it since age 12 or something like that.

sounds more realistic
what effects would this drug have on colossus long term then?

does it make him more aggressive or just highly dependent on the drug?

I don't know the long term effects they haven't gotten into that yet in the book. We just found out he has been taking it in the newest issue so we will have to see. Although the Alpha Flight came and took his gay lover and the he recruited 4 or 5 of the X-Men to go after them by taking the syrum (Alpha Force was on the syrum and 5 of them kicked about 25 X-Men's butt's).

hahahah
i looked it up
it is true
ultimate colossus is gay

he got all shy when northstar was hitting on him in the Tempest story arc i believe
hahahahah

funny stuff
millar is an awesome writer he makes all these classic characters more realistic

Regular Marvel Universe Colossus is straight though

but i have the feeling Dr MCoy is gay or slowly showing more interests in animals rather than humans
or at least he hinted at it a few years back

in the ultimate universe i like the ultimates 1 and Ultimates 2... i also dig ultimate Fantastic Four

but other than that i stick to regular marvel

Ultimate X-men is really good stuff man you should read more of it. I think the only thing I didn't like is that They killed someone off way to early. I wont say here if you dont allready know. The writing is amazing, aswell as the art. My favorite Ultimate books is still the Ultimate War series. Check em out the art and writing are phenomenal.

i agree with you man

i love ultimate war
i own it

anything with the ultimates i love
except the new rendition with joe mad unfortunately i just buy it for the art

but ultimate galactus

ultimates one and two

Ultimate war

Ultimate Power

all those were friggin cool man

Ultimate Xmen i really dig: The tomorrow people, return to weapon X, Ultimate War

and that is about it man

i did not like the tempest very much, World Tour, neither liked the one with gambit or return of the king, Shadow king was a bit disappointing whenever i read a book from it... and Cable... well i know the deal with cable and don't particularly like it either
hahahah

well return of the king was ok but i found it so lacking man, they are good stories don't get me wrong but they don't have the raw power the first 2 story arcs or ultimate war had.

also the art was sort of like a turn off for me, i liked the art from Kubert that kicked off the series... Bachalo was amazing on it as well, but the other stuff, just not my cup i think. maybe i will get used to it eventually.

just my opinion man

I seem to be getting into Ultimate Fantastic Four, it is pretty damn cool

and Ultimate Spiderman Occasionally, i loved Death of a Goblin

Death of a goblin was sick in just about every sense of the word. That ending was pretty brutal. Great story and kickass art.
