HULK IS OUT TODAY!!!
replied on: 6/25/2008 4:17:59 PM

it seems like that lately doesn't it?

i love marvel

but somehow lately I have been reading a lot of DC and well i love Check mate and 52 countdown to crisis

i have not been checking out much superman or batman lately

but i checked out some green lantern corp and damn i was amazed

they are at war against the yellow lanterns (i forgot their names) but it is a bloody struggle both sides are dying like crazy
i would not mind seeing a movie about this

i guess each company has its strengths when it comes to making their comics into other media

it seems marvel does better with movies
and DC does better with animated stories

i was amazed

Well I went out today to watch The Hulk!!! I have to say that I was more than satisfied with it....It was Awesome!!!! Edward Norton really captured Banner the way we all know Banner. Man I can't wait till they make another one. These movies are just getting better and better.

I just want a badass Captain America movie set during the final days of WWII
I want boots in the faces of Nazi soldiers,
I want women to be called dames or doll.
I want to see him plant Old Glory in a pile of Nazi bodies as the The Star-Spangled Banner plays in the background in sync with the action

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave.
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

i think it would be cool to see him go from a WW2 hero in 1942 to someone who questions the values and morals of the government today
(as he constantly did in the comic book)

he is a symbol and as such should be incorruptible even in a world were the enemy is not as clear cut as it was back in ww2

perhaps have a good saving private Ryan scene in the beginning, and show how thanks to cap the war was won.

then show how he was frozen in time, just to be thawed out and used as a weapon in every major American war

then when he awakens in the present day he says he has had enough of being used as a tool and sets out as a ambassador for peace, hence why he uses the shield, wears the flag and refuses to kill even though he is a soldier , as he actively actively takes on the role of captain America,

However a loose end from the past shows up and starts killing everyone he knows and he sets out to seek justice and of course thwart some new Nazi plan to destroy the world or something. Include some cool fights (like have cap take on a army of Nazi super soldiers that were developed back in WW2 to kill him and now are used for some malevolent plan in the present)

Throw in insane action and effects and i think you have a killer movie

ohh and of course a Downey Jr scene at the end where he is offered the chance to join the new "Team"

I saw Hulk recently.

I liked the Ed Norton parts and was pretty unimpressed with the Hulk parts.
Everytime he turned into Hulk, there was just nothing there for me.
I was like..aawwww no, dont change yet! I liked Bruce Banner better (Ed Norton..).

Sure, it was more uplifting than the last Hulk, but it was still kinda lame for my tastes. The CGI was just not up to its standards. Jurassic Park is 15 years old and that STILL looks more real now than Hulk.
The lighting and texture was too stylized and gimmicky.

Very few parts looked real. The rest was ho hum.

IRON MAN still is the champ.
I was glad to see Robert Downey make a cameo at the end, but a little confused that it wasn't Bruce he was asking to affiliate with for the avengers thing.

This whole Avenegers stuff can really put a damper on all these films if done poorly.
So they reaaaaally need to FOCUS and take everything they do extremely serious with the next installments.
Like Captain America, etc.

If Cap looks nothing like his comic counterpart, Im pretty much off the boat with the avengers.

The sad thing about these films is that they treat it either toooo realistiC for their own good, or too cheesy fake.

I mean... Each character works perfect in their own world. But what happens when you put them all in one table?

Well, i will keep my fingers crossed they dont drop the bomb.
But then again, the kids loved it and thats really what matters.

yeah man
in fact i would like to add
i am happy they are making these films

when i was a kid (and who says i am not still one) i would have loved to see a super hero movie with this kind of effects and fights and all that, i would not care for the plot as a kid, just the action and the flare...

Amen to that bro. I would have been the same. In fact, I was. I loved the first captain america film (released in the 80s on tv).
