I know I have a lot to go with regular size drawings but I am always looking to push my ability. Since I don't have many sketch cards I went ahead and printed some templates on regular paper ( 4 per sheet ) to practice on them. for my first one I messed with it a little to get it to fit and then went ahead and penciled it. it's not 100% finished but I think it's enough to get a crit. replied on: 7/12/2008 9:46:27 PM nice finishes here! Now, let me share you some constructive tips dealing with the technical aspect of your drawing. It's gotta be difficult drawing with such refined details on such a small dimension. But regardless, you have to reallllly push that aside and try your hardest to get every detail in there as correctly as possible. There's 1 or 2 issues in this card that could use some fixing before furthering it down. And I'm saying this to everyone who's drawing cards or comic pages as well so listen up! Anatomy has to be one of the most important part of the learning curve when drawing buff super heroes. Theres ways to exagerrate while still keeping the actual core of human anatomy. And we gotta get those dimensions right. Here, I don't see muscular issues that hurts my eyes. Everything is fundamentally inserted as should. I dig the detailing! However, from the looks of it, I think his head is placed too close to the deltoid/arm closest to us, for the specific angle you chose. If anything, that head needs to be moved up a bit showing a little bit of neck because of the perspective. The best way to avoid this from ever happening, is to draw the body in a box form (3D) and add the circle on top of the box right in the middle so you'll know where to place his head next time. No matter what the angle. Everything else is fun stuff and things I'm sure you will pick up on really soon as you keep rockin your art. Like the way muscle fibers run through eachother, etc.  But this is all in all, definitely an improvement to your immediate growing rockin abilities. Do more. And make sure it kicks your ass. If it becomes boring or easy, thats your cue to raise the bar.
