replied on: 10/9/2008 9:48:15 AM I give anyone who tries to draw movie Transformers a lot of credit. I'd pull my hair out. When inking, take your time. Don't rush anything. A piece like this should take you at least 5 hours to complete when inking. Being quick is one thing, but when it starts to cut into your fullest potential, it's just best to be patient with your work. At the same time however, practice quick strokes on a separate sheet of paper, so your lines don't look completely drawn but instead, cleanly stamped. I wonder if that made any sense. The quicker the ink stroke, with added finesse, the less bumps and jittery lines are executed. Work with your wrist and concentrate clean movement. Also, try posting a slightly smaller scan so it makes it easier to see the pic as a whole for those with small screens, like me. Keep drawing and post more. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask. That goes for everyone. I know people post art here daily, but I cant help when I'm not asked. When no one asks for specific help in any area of their art, I always assume the artists is 100% content with their work and take it as is. Keep rockin, mexican. |

replied on: 10/9/2008 10:38:16 AM I'd like to add, thicken the lines in the foreground. I kind of lose the fist because it's actually a thinner line then the background of the figure. Transformers rock! |

replied on: 10/9/2008 6:07:02 PM Wow man, I like the detail and those movie bots with all the finite amounts scare me to death, even the old school gen 1's tend gives me fits. As for the inking try a micron pen they give razor thin lines.which is good for the tech stuff. I still use the pilot precise pens both the .05 and the thick rollers for the most of my stuff. they have black india ink, so it should not fade... if the paper is good quality. Solid work. keep'em coming!!! |

replied on: 10/9/2008 7:21:31 PM nice man If I may suggest, erase the pencil lines as well. It would make it look cleaner. I love inking, perhaps more than drawing because inks add that extra crisp to your work. It also lets you play around with negative space. keep rocking it out bro |
