I personally think it should, it would make massive revenue. Also the fact that is so readily available, makes it seem, somewhat stupid to outlaw. I mean, my mate grew 7 pounds of the shit, and that was when he was 15. Another mate grows it on his window sill. |

Marajuana, Legalised?
replied on: 7/3/2003 11:49:52 AM I don't know if it should be legalised... maybe decriminalised. I mean I don't agree with people getting arrested for being in possession of a plant that grows out of the earth, it just seems like a waste of police time anyway. Most people i know who smoke it usually find somewhere or someone to get it from. then of course there is the whole medical side which I think has to be looked into as well. Similarly though there have been calls to legalise speed/ecstacy and heroin for the purpose of regulating the substance so stopping it from being cut with other substances. The same i suppose can be said for cannabis. Maybe some sort of regulation is required but from a personal point of view i find it hard to believe that many of the drugs that we have legalised today do anything for the good of man or for their evolution as humans. Horses for courses I guess. |

replied on: 7/5/2003 9:04:43 AM Well, Legalising it would inturn bring in massive revenue. I think it is a problem, that isn't preventable, i think heroin and the other so called "Hard Drugs" should be kept Illegal, as they compromise only a small part of the drug world. Whereas, something like marajuana is something, that you aren't considered a junkie, or a drugo for smoking it. Society has accepted it, i mean, no-longer are we tought in school, "DON'T DO IT", "NEVER GO NEAR IT" we are now tought "Ok, if your going to do it make sure......." |

replied on: 7/6/2003 10:32:05 PM legalizing marijuana would be great for the economy but it still would be considered "taboo" to the majority or half of the society |

replied on: 7/6/2003 11:15:07 PM Exactly. This is something that will always be the source of controversy within our societies. Personally, I think it is fine as it is now. Those who really want to smoke up will go through the trouble/risk to obtain it. While, disinterested/minimally interested individuals will have little means to get the drug as it would not be at all convenient. |

replied on: 7/8/2003 11:58:33 PM i think it should be legal in the us. it pisses me off that people go to jail for 3 to 20 years for having pot but can walk away or only spend 1 year for rape, child molestation or murder. the us justice system is total screwed. |

replied on: 7/9/2003 1:34:35 AM We have a weak hailing system here, unless the media outs preasure on it, which it rarely does. You can murder someone in cold blood, and get out in 10 yrs! Or rape someone and get a 5 - 10 yrs sentence. The first time, a rapist was given a just sentence was only recently, where a group of Gang rapists, all of Arab and Muslim Background, went around targetting Australian girls to rape! 2 have been sentenced to 45 yrs and one 55 yrs. |

replied on: 7/15/2003 8:19:24 AM Looks like there are several imbalances in the justice system all over the world. Here in England too... I think a general policy for the police in London here nowadays is to let the offence go and maybe just take the weed off 'em. I don't know if it's official... I also find that it's a lot easier to get a whiff of marijuana whilst walking about out at night than it was say, three or four years ago. It has become a lot more socially acceptable to consume marijauna and for the moment I get the feeling that people also consider it more acceptable than tobacco. |
