Hi,

I am seeking information about family members from your area. My Grandfather, Lewis Frederick Wills, was born 17 Aug 1908, at Baddaford Cottages, Staverton, Devon. His father was John Lewis Wills, who I have no birthdate or location for. His mother was Emily Maud Tapper, born 28 Sep 1880, Christow, Devon.

We live in Ontario, Canada and are planning to visit the Staverton area next August and would be very interested in any available information about my family.

Thanks,

Mark Lewis Wills

My ancestors John Edwards and Mary Scoble were married in Staverton on Jan 7, 1730 and two of their children were also married there. John Edwards married Joan Perry on Oct 29, 1756 and Mary Edwards married Allen Searell on Aug 21, 1766. I would very much appreciate learning the exact wording of the marriage records.

Hi, I have now traced every single child and Sarah herself and I have found that she lied on the 1891 census. Not only were all her children born in East Stonehouse but so was she! I now have no idea how Staverton suddenly appeared in her life although I do know that she was in a very stressful situation at the time and that will have had quite a lot to do with it. If anyone has tried to find information for me, thank you and my apologies for the wild goose chase. Eliza Tippet and James Walters, her parents, may still have some connection with Staverton however so any input about them would be gratefuly received

Hi there,

I am seeking any further information about my ancestor James Shaw who was born in Staverton circa 1847. He later moved to Rugby and married but I am keen to research his family in Staverton.

Any information gratefully received.

Hi,
I'm trying to find information on the Boon Family who lived in Jeptha's cottages Staverton in the late 17-early 1800s, James Boon is the earliest decendant that I have found. Outside the door of the church there are several(6) Boon graves and they were also known to have 'Memorys' (later 'Boons') blacksmith shop. I also have them at 'Port Bridge' in Staverton, wherever that was? Any information would be greatly appreciated

Regards Stuart

Hello Sydbev. I'm interested in the Rowes of Staverton and any connections there might be with the Denbury Rowes. Any details, in particular, on Thomas Rowe (born 1815)who married Agnes L. (born Denbury in 1816) and had five children, all of whom were born in Staverton. In 1851, they were living at Wolston Green and Thomas was working as a shoemaker and public house keeper at the Live and Let Live. Who were his parents?

Thanks for your message.

I have an Ann Whiteway born around 1752 in Staverton, daughter of Thomas Whiteway, a farmer and his wife Elizabeth Scoble.

Can you look for a baptism for Ann Whiteway for me please.

Thanks very much.

Hi

I would be very grateful if you can help with any information on the Wakeham family of Staverton. One of my ancestors was a John W Wakeham born in Staverton in 1781. He moved to Deal in Kent where he married and set up a grocers shop. If you have any details about his parents it would be marvelous.

Many thanks
Tim
