UriZeL1313![]() Quote | Reply | | Amanda Goes to the ER posted on: 10/17/2005 8:54:09 AM I had to go to the Emergency Room last night...turns out I have a condition called sciatica. It is caused by very small cocxyc (sp?) bone at the end of my spine. Well I was there for 4 hours listening to screaming babies. When I went to check in I had to fill out a bunch of paper work and the lady who checked me in was on the phone with her husband having lovey-dovey talky woo woo. In the meantime my left ass cheek felt like it was on fire and I was shaking so bad I couldnt sign the paper work. I nearly broke Chad's hand from A.)being in excrutiating pain B.) Reisiting the urge to slap the hell out of lady checking me in. So instead I was an asshole the whole time. After that I was layed up in a bed for 3 hours and some lady came in and tried to move me without telling me so I scream bloody murder. Then they wanted to give me a shot to "calm me down" FUCK THAT. It didnt work, Chad thought they were going to have to strap me to the bedrail. (Good luck 95 lb nurse.) After that they had the odasicty to try and give me Ibprofuen. I yelled at the doctor (who btw had very cold hands and kepr poking me and asking if that hurt. YES WHY THE HELL DO THINK IM HERE!) So I explained to them as calmly as I could that I needed narcotics. So I got narcotics, but my left ass cheek was still on fire. I hate hospitals the only reason I went there was because my toes went numb and that scared the crap out of me. I think I left there felling alot worse than I did when I arrived. I refuse to take the muscle relaxers last night because whatever they gave me to calm me dowm made me extremly paranoid. I told Chad that they were trying to poison me for being so uncooperative and for being a huge pain in the ass. (But not as bad as the pain in my ass.) So that was a my little story of Amanda goes to the ER. Never to Return. I will just bleed to death. Anything is better than that hospital. |

replied on: 10/17/2005 9:57:00 AM Sorry to hear that you had such and ordeal at the hospital. That pain in the Ass is really bad. I have it from time to time. It really does suck!!! My advice to you is check into an MRI and see what is causing it rather than trying to deal with the pain. It can get really bad. Herniated discs can be a real bitch!!!! Take it from someone who knows. Hopefully that's not the case with you. Some of those medications they give you can cause paranoid reactions. I turned into a royal bitch and so did my hubby. Physical therapy, followed by doing your exercises really helps me when it flare's back up. Good luck and hope your feeling better. |

replied on: 10/17/2005 10:34:31 AM Yeah now I have to pay 185 bucks to go see a specialist and get on pain management....where they sent me to physical therapy with a bunch of jocks, give me vitamin shots, and pain killers, why dont they just throw in a visit to the shrink too...its not a herniated disc (eeek!) its because my butt bone is the size of a 5 year old, my hips are uneven, and muscles spaz out all of this in the area of the sciatic nerve. causing my ass cheek to feel like i just sat on a vat of hot coals and didnt stay there long enough to cause nerve damage. The whole ordeal just pisses me off. they dont really give a rats ass if im in pain or not ("does this hurt POKE! hmmmm does this hurt PROD!) they just want my indurance company to pay them money, to put me on pain management to get kick backs from the pharmecutical companies. DAMN THEM ALL THEY'RE IS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR THOSE PEOPLE ITS TWO DOORS PAST THE COLLECTIONS AGENCIES. IF YOU SEE THE LAWYERS YOU HAVE GONE TO FAR. |

replied on: 10/18/2005 1:37:00 AM LMAOF!!! You got it right Uri.... Between the specialists and insurance companies, the doctor that sent you there, the physical therapist. They all want a little piece of the pie. The problem is that you feel even worse when their done with you, yet they are rolling in the bucks. I personally don't go to the doctor unless I'm carried out on stretcher. Kicking and screaming the whole way cuz all they do is screw with you until you feel worse than you did!!!! |

replied on: 10/18/2005 8:15:58 AM Yeah they had to sedate me because I was "verbally combative" Jesus when I'm I not...Its like Dave Chappelle when he was impersonating Samuel L. Jackson. "I'm not yelling, THIS IS THEY WAY I TALK HMM MMM BITCH" Sorry but thats what I felt like Then the shot they gave me made me extremly paranoid. I thought they were trying to poison me and that people were watching me through my TV. I was way whacked out. (I still think "they" are watching me through the TV but thats beside the point. |

replied on: 10/18/2005 9:04:10 AM My mom was in the hospital last year and she, like me, is allergic to all narcotics. What a shame huh???? Well anyways they give her this medication call "Dilaudid" (sp?) The next morning we go to the hospital and my mom is totally whacked out!!! She is lying on her back with yogurt all over her chest yelling profanity.LMAOF!!! It really shouldn't have been funny but my sister and I go into the room and my mom sits up and starts asking us if she is in the morgue yet. She looks at her finger nails and said "no they didn't paint them yet". One of the freakiest things I've ever seen. But again she was whacked out on the meds and later in the day she was talking to a fly on the ceiling that by the way was not there. I myself can't take meds real well. When they put me on some kind of pain relief for my back I was more of a bitch than I usually am. |

replied on: 10/19/2005 2:02:45 AM I had a similar reaction to morphine. They had me in traction for my back, so my head was incased in this pully thing at the top of my bed, and I couldn't reach it. I remember talking to my future father-in-law and can't remember what the conversation was about. Then things got really weird. Hallucinations and my face felt like it was on fire and my eyes felt like they were going to pop out of my head. Felt like I was going to throw up. Pressed the button for the nurse and told her what was happening she told me I would be fine and I say get in here now. She got there just in time to flip me over before I got sick. "Remember I was on my back" and couldn't roll to my side. Anyways the doctor starts yelling "methidone, methidone" it's used to bring heroine addicts down. Well needless to say they say I'm highly allergic to it. I was told that I gave the nurse on night duty a black eye for her efforts. |

replied on: 10/20/2005 7:57:17 AM JESUS LIL! That sucks I would fight them like hell if they tried to turn me into a human pin cushion. My friend's mom is a surgical nurse and she has told me some horror stories that happen while a patient is knocked out. (Shit getting dropped into their bady cavities EEK) Or having oxygen bubbles in an IV, or needle. Yeah I would have fought like hell. Its good your not going to check-ups anymore. Dirty quacks are too damned expensive anyway. |

replied on: 10/20/2005 7:02:32 PM I dont go hospital unless its life threatening or its against my will, im allergic to most antibiotics nothing to bad though just alot of vomit as an effect... quote: Its free here, but as the saying goes *you get what you pay for*, so what happens is you get told you have cancer that is curable if it is treated quickly only to be put on a 2 year waiting list, so i would much rather pay good money for treatment... |

replied on: 10/21/2005 10:29:11 AM I think Socialized medicine would be cool. Over here we have the nightmare HMO and Health Care costs are outrageous. For example I am a 21 year old female smoker in good health with no life threatening disease. Insurance for me would cost 300-400 dollars a month because I am of "child-bearing" age. So I have to pop out a baby to get free to nearly free medical. In other words I have to worsen my situation in order to improve it. Talk about a Catch-22 If that isnt the biggest load of bullshit I dont know what is. |
