My husband and were in our car going to the store "I think for cigarettes for me" anyways we were coming down Rt.66 a highways close to home. It was probably close to 11:00 p.m. We went to the local gas station and was on our way back when we saw this thing that was all black in a hooded robe. It was holding something in it's right hand and swinging it back and forth. Like an incense thing you see in a church. There was a full moon that night. The reason I know this is, that it was a bright night, and whatever it was it looked like it was chanting to the moon, bowing up and down in motion. You could make out the figure really well. Couldn't see it's face and it was standing right on the edge of the road in front of the guard rail. My husband said "what the hell is that" as we were passing it. I was in the passenger seat and still didn't get a good look at it's face. I started yelling turn around, turn around. We were really close to a road off to the right and he did a U-turn really quick. I had my eye on it and then it just vanished. We never did find out what it was. All I could think of was the Grim reeper in appearance. My husband is a very big skeptic but agreed with me that it was something really crazy and we didn't know how it diappeared so fast. Everytime I go past that site I look for it. Never saw it again. Really don't know what we were thinking when we turned around that quick. I certainly didn't want to stop and ask it what it was doing there but wanted to get a better look at it. Remember this was a main highway 2 lanes both ways. Have no idea what it was???? |

replied on: 10/31/2005 8:29:17 AM A censor is pretty hard to get a hold of for a party, the fact the person was just walking around waving it doesnt sound like they were going to a party. Maybe it was some type of occultist doing something for the full moon? |

It was the middle of winter I think somewhere between xmas and newyears and I still don't know what it was. If it was an occultist, don't you think I would see them doing there thing more often? I travel that stretch of road everyday and haven't seen it since. Don't know what it was and obviously since I haven't seen it since I can't really research something I can't find. If I do see it again. I'll let you know. I still think it was the grim reaper or something like it. Either that or a really whacked out person. Just don't understand how it disappeared so quick. Where would it have gone. It was on the side of the road and then gone in seconds. |

replied on: 11/2/2005 3:41:34 AM Hey guys, Just drove that stretch of road yesterday and there was a 4-5 car accident right by where we seen this thing. Pretty bad accident. Gonna keep a closer eye on it. Come to think of it.... That stretch of road is a hot spot for accidents because it goes from a 4 lane into a 2 lane. |
