replied on: 11/28/2005 8:47:26 AM Ok guys here's a little info on the thing beside the road. I've checked into the area around where we've seen it. There is no one within that particular area with any kind of mental illness. I had to check that out first and see if maybe it was just some crazy person on the loose so to speak. Also the nearest Monastery is around 10-15 miles that would be Saint Vincent In Latrobe Pa. Also checked to see if there was any kind of cult thing going on around the area. Pretty far-fetched but had to check. None that I could find. I did stumble across another couple of people who have also seen it at different times. What I found out is that it's usually around 11:00 p.m. up until 3:30 A.m. These people do not know eachother personally and I know them as aquaintences. I was not the one who brought the subject up but as I heard some girl telling another one about it at a local grocery store I started to listen to what she had to say. I gave my input in after she had, had her say. So I feel a whole lot better knowing that my husband & I are not the only one who has seen it. Someone I talked to just seen it the other night around 2:00 A.M. They describe the same thing to me that I described to you. It also seemed to just disappear on them also. Not sure why?? It really is a mystery how something can just disappear so quickly like that. Also the people who have seen it were pretty terrified. Not because they seen something on the side of the road but because it disappeared. Still searching for other explainable reasons but so far it's not leading that way. Still I want all the logical reasons out of the way before I believe anything else it could be. I'll keep you posted. |

Yep cigarettes about 9:30 p.m. I saw it again but this time there was a car in front of me and the lights were shining on it....when it just disappeared the car pulled over and so did I ....The woman got out of the car and yelled "What the f@!@$$ was that... I told her I had no idea but I've seen it before I stayed in my car while she ranted and raved about seeing a thing in a robe "by the way no smell" of course we are on a highway so who knows...Still have no idea what it is??? I do know that it was there for a little while I'm talking very brief and then just poof gone...what could cause something to do that? I no I sound crazy but it's got me baffled...If I wasn't so afraid of getting hit by a car I would go and take pictures of the site but like I said it's right along the side of the road in front of a guard rail.... |

replied on: 3/9/2006 7:36:59 AM Ok I thought about this and I figured just one night of pics isn't going to work...I'm going to be taking pics every night on my way home from work... I figure if it's going to show up it will not be at my beck and call..so it just so happens I'm friends with what we like to call "The DC cops" not Washington LOL that stands for "Delmont Cops" The reason they are going to let me do this is that they have had reports of something standing on the side of the road at different times but when they get there "Nothing" anyways I talked to them and told them what I would be doing..The only thing that they insisted on was that I not park or stand on the side of the road while taking pics meaning I can't be in front of the guard rail I have to be behind or on the other side of the road in case of a flash I might distract another vehicle and cause and accident or I could cause an accident by standing there, its a 4 lane highway and they are moving pretty fast even though the speed limit at that point goes from 40 mph right before where I've seen this thing to 50 mph right around the spot, also I had to get permission from the people who own the home right behind this...it's down over the hill but I'm still in their yard so to speak and great news...they want to know what it is too!!!! They've seen it quite a few times and state that they have no idea where it goes but it doesn't come into their yard meaning it's not a person that just runs down over the hill...it just disappears...Also there is nothing on the other side of the road just brush, no houses nothing...They said that a year ago they thought that someone was using a projector or something to scare people going down the road... I'm also going to check that out...That would have to be a real strong projector don't you think? I do as clear as you can see this ...whatever it is.... Anyway the only fear I have right now is being a woman out along the side of the road at approximately 11:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. by myself..but no help for it..the DC said they would keep and eye on me when I'm there...They are sneaking little pests so they are probably going to be out their with me...no seriously they are great guys on the police force and just happen to be at all our family functions it's a small town and everyone knows everyone....LOL You wouldn't believe the dirt I have on them...LOL Wish me luck...Oh and Meth and Frank and anyone else on the forum, if you can think of anything else I need to do let me know I'm open for suggestions???..."I'M GOING TO FIND OUT WHAT THIS IS" trust me on this one. It's got me very interested...I figure I'm not the only one who has seen it and....nobody knows what it is so...somebody has to find out.... |

replied on: 3/9/2006 9:08:42 AM Shay, Maybe you'll get lucky and get a picture of it, but instead of "drive-by ghost hunting" I would highly recommend getting a group of friends together and snapping off hundreds of pictures once or twice a month at the location. Ghost hunting is a huge numbers game. We can take thousands of photos before we get anything besides orbs to show up. Just a suggestion.... - Aedryan |

Ok now seriously Meth what do you think the odds are of something being beside the road for all to see???? Not very likely that's why it has me puzzled??? Why have other people complained to the police about it? Why hasn't anyone figured out what/who it is...I'm still not convinced that it's paranormal until I get someone in the paranormal field to take a look...Also the neighbors have seen it and have no idea why it vanishes???? I'll take your precautions and if I get anything I'll send you the pics "cuz I'm a dufus" when it comes to putting pics on the computer....LOL wish me luck |

replied on: 3/9/2006 7:59:59 PM Hi Shay, My point was that just pulling over and taking a few random pictures then hopping back in your car most likely isn't going to be very fruitful. But, who knows, maybe you'll get lucky. I suggested you take a group of people with you for the sake of being able to take hundreds or even thousands of pictures, as opposed to doing a "drive-by" on the place.... LOL As for an explaination for these occurances.... It's impossible to say, because I haven't witnessed it. BUT, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of some local(s) trying to keep an urban legend alive by standing around out there in a robe freaking people out. I'm not saying that's what it is, but I would try and rule that out first, which would take some sneaky detective work for a few nights.... Please keep us posted! - Aedryan |

The neighbors said that , that is what they thought when they first saw it...and the reason they think it's some sort of projector is it disappears...But where would it be coming from? Your probably right about an urban legend but I've lived in this area for 30 years and I've never heard anything about it but I'll still keep asking around..someone is bound to know ...I'll keep yah posted |

replied on: 3/10/2006 3:19:02 PM It's hard to imagine that someone would go to such an extreme for a hoax, but who knows.... Also, if it were a projector, you woud see a beam of light projecting from the projector, so I would highly doubt this is the case. If people have WITHOUT A DOUBT, actually seen something out there and it WITHOUT A DOUBT, literally disappeared, I would say you have something. If it's just that people are passing by and they see something and they look back/turn around and it's just gone, that's another story. It could still be something paranormal, but again, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of pranksters either. In order to totally rule out the possibility of pranksters, you would literally have to stake the place out, unseen in the middle of the night quite a few times. It would be quite a huge undertaking.... Otherwise, go out there with a few friends for a few hours, once or twice a month and take hundreds of photos. - Aedryan |

It wasn't like I turned my head and it was gone it just vanished right in front of my eyes...but that doesn't mean that it's paranormal..there could be a number of things it could be...Still working on getting some people together...I'll keep ya posted.... |

LOL It sounds like you've got something good here. If I were you, I would start by trying to profile this thing. Get back ahold of the police and see if they have a record of all the times and dates people have reported seeing it. Also, log both times and dates that you have seen it. Another thing I would do real soon (before the seasons change)is, go back to the location and drive by several times and look very close to make absolutely certain there aren't any sort of shadows and surroundings, causing tricks of the light/illusions. A few questions.... 1) Did this thing seem to acknowledge or react to your presence in any way, either of the times you've seen it? 2) Did it seem to be black and white or color? 3) Was it in the same exact spot both times you've seen it? 4) Did it do the same exact actions/movements both times you've seen it? 5) Did it have the same exact appearance both times you've seen it? If you could give us a detailed, second by second breakdown of exactly what you saw both times, that would be awesome. - Aedryan |
