I have an additional theory as well however. If infact ouija boards are capable of contacting the dead as most claim, it seems logical to me (from a spiritual standpoint) to assume that they too would wish to avoid a church. The reason being that obviously alot of religious worship occurs within a church, thus generating a certain amount of light on the astral. as most people who believe the dead can speak through oujia boards believe said dead people don't know they are dead or dont want to face it, it seems to reason that any amount of astral light would be equally uncomfortable to them as it would to a demonic presence. This also coincides with kabbalist philosophy and western mysticism, which theorizes that "ghosts" are infact "Qlippoth" or "shells of the dead". Parts of the soul that have sluffed off and retained the baser more un-refined nature of the individual and remain on the astral while the more evolved portions of the soul "ascend" to higher planes. The Qlippoth are notorious in occult literature for their despisal of the light. especially the astral kind.
