I want your answer not an answer based on some other website? Also, tell me how you came to the answer you did?

I'm sorry but I couldn't vote as I think the different types of haunting you have are like this.

Residual Energy
Earthbound Spirit
Parallel spirit (earth and next level)
Non-human spirit (never existed on earth)
Astral Spirit (those still alive)

Most of those that you list are types of entities and not types of hauntings, which would fall under either intelligent or residual.

I also believe that it is both 1 and 3. I've had experiences with different types of hauntings mostly from group 3 but also poltergeist.

Why would they be entities?

It's just a matter of classification. Are the entities involved intelligent where they can be interacted with, well then they are classified under an intelligent haunting. If they cannot be reasoned with or show no signs of interaction then they would be considered residual.

The terms you listed deal with a specific type of entity or type of activity. If we tried to classify a haunting by it's activity them we would have a hundred different types of hauntings.

Can we vote for all of the above??? I think if you have ever experience one of the many you have to consider any and all...as in "The cosmic Heart is ever throbbing equally."... as quoted by P.Yogananda "Whispers from Eternity", 1986 (first printing.)

Thank you for your clarity on this and I will review my definitions and get back to you.

I think I'll vote for 2 and 4... From my experience I know that I have a residual haunting and have also seen an apparition... not sure of the intelligence or if it would be an entity??? but then again I've seen many types of orbs so ....hmmm Also not sure if the sleep paralysis I have is paranormal or not so I would add that to the category....but I can't say that what I encounter during "ASP" is an apparition, demon, etc,. so I'm pretty stumped on this one.... but I still voted...

Ok Im not a Pro at Spirit Classification but here is My list

A Living Spirit: A Spirit that Belives it is still alive and does what it would do on a normal Basis.

Poltergeist: A spirit that knows that they are dead and try to get you to notice, With Sounds, aparitions and things that go missing.

Evil: Now this doesnt mean it is a Demon, This means that this spirit has maybe been a Killer or Was happy when other people were hurt. This spirit will Scare you with aparitions and is easy to exercise with the Help of a priest.

Demon: This is the worst fear of Ghost Hunters and Familys alike, Demons are sent straight from hell with no Pit Stops. They have all the characteristics of a Evil spirit but they can also Possess you.
When you have a Phsycic with you they can sense that these Ghost are not natural. They have had no Being before now.

Just my classifacation of Spirits
