The last time I used one, I was with a couple young family members, and I was young myself. Actually, and I have seen that many of you here detest this idea, I was at most 8 years old. I used the board at a cousin's house, and it was daytime. We closed all of the curtains and blinds, turned out all of the lights, and lit a bunch of candles. Now, as it has been many years, I do not really remember what happened. What I do remember, though, is that at one point, we asked the spirit we were communicating with to give us a sign that it was actually there, and suddenly a couple of the candles went out. Needless to say, we were all pretty scared and immediatly stopped using the board. Just wanted to get that experience off my chest. It was one of the first things that led to my interest in the paranormal and even the extraterrestrial. Now for the question. As I read all of these other experiences, and the objection to using them at all, this rekindled my interest in using them. Now, of course, I am much more serious about them and would never use one just for fun. I've looked into a lot of different aspects of this. So I asked a friend what she thought of them, and she said that she was interested in them and wanted to, at some point, try using one too. Now, I do not have my own board, but we talked about finding somebody who does. I advised her to look for someone who knows what they are doing and who takes it seriously, and that she shouldn't look at doing this as "fun". I also believe I should go too, both to fulfill this rekindled interest and to just make sure, along with whomever owns the board, that nothing goes wrong. Any suggestions on this, outside of just not doing it at all? Thanks. |

My experience and a question
replied on: 2/1/2006 8:56:40 AM Well, I'm not against using them and since there really are no experts in they're use although many will claim to be as such. You don't need to buy a board or find someone who has one. You can simply draw one on smooth paper and use a clear glass. In theory it's not the board that talks, it's what talks through the board. |

My experience and a question
replied on: 2/2/2006 1:53:41 AM So Frank do you think that anything would work as a ouija board if it has the right symbols/writing on it? What I want to know is why? I've never tried a homemade ouija board before but now you've got me thinking I might just give it a shot and see what happens... |

My experience and a question
replied on: 2/2/2006 4:02:06 AM It has nothing to do with symbols or writing. The writing on the homemade board, paper, table, or whatever has to be in a language you and the other users understand. I'm not sure whether it is an actual entity, your subconscious, entity working through you or whatever but if it's not in a language you understand, you won't understand the message. There are no rights or rituals performed on parker bros boards and they work straight from the factory. You can use almost anything for divinition, which is basically what you are doing with a talking board. |
