Even though I claim to not sense anything anyways when I drink some I can't sense crap. If it's seriously bothering you, you might want to take up drinking. Just a thought, I'm not a doctor, I'm a proctor. |

replied on: 2/11/2006 5:59:46 AM I have been having some severe pain lately and am not really keen on the idea of being under the influence of anything. It has been necessary to take some pain meds to sleep sometimes. However, I have been having more of these ASPs since October (with or without the meds,) and have to say that the Vicodin and now the Ultram have not made any difference with the sensations experienced. I like the way you're thinking though  |

replied on: 2/13/2006 2:09:51 AM First of all I can't take vicoden...I'm allergic to all pain meds and narcotics so that's out for me... Second..."Alcohol" hmmmm I don't think so... not that I don't drink but becoming an alcoholic just to get rid of "ASP" ??? LOL that would be going from one extreme to another LOL!!! My husband and I have every other weekend without the kids so we say that when the kids are away that's the weekends that we destroy ourselves LOL!!! meaning without our kids supervision we tend to over do it...LOL Other than that there isn't any drinking in the home because we can't really tell our kids not to if we are doing it ourselves...Kids learn from their parents... |

replied on: 2/13/2006 4:16:27 AM Just so everyone knows that wasn't a serious suggestion. I don't think that drinking is the answer to someones problems even ASP. I think that there is some truth in it. If you can find out what part of the brain is active during ASP. Then it would be possible to supress that portion through drugs. |

replied on: 2/13/2006 5:33:52 AM Elisha, When I went through the sleep study..they couldn't figure out what would be triggering it.. You would think they would know???? As far as the alcohol thing...I took it as a joke!! Really. As far as any drug therapy I'm a little hestitant because of my reaction to meds...The first time my husband gave me tylenol he didn't realize that my body can only handle 1 - 500 mg... he gave me 2 - 500 mg tablets for a headache and I was sitting there and asked him how many "milligrams" he gave me and then I told him my nose was numb and fell asleep...LOL It freaked him out...Can't swallow pills real well so he crushed them for me so I had no idea how many mgs he gave me...So if tylenol can do that to me can you imagine what other meds could do? LOL!!! I know I'm a light weight but I am a little on the small side... |
