Are physical attacks logically possible?
posted on: 2/8/2006 4:14:46 AM

As some of you know "if you've read my topic in Sleep paralysis thread on this forum" I had something happen and have no idea why. I have marks on my forearms and have no idea how they got there. I won't go into the story here because it's already on another post so my question is: Do you think that is logically possible for a spirit, entity, etc, to be able to physically harm you or mark you? All my logic in my head says "NO" but why can't I explain the marks on my forearms?? Just wants some input. Also if anyone else has had this happen I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Shay,

I go by a very simple rule when it comes to ghosts. If it can move physical objects, no matter how big or small, it can hurt you. It doesn't matter if it is directly or indirectly.

A analogy I use for my clients deals with a simple gesture performed by the entity can cause a lot of problems. If you are near a dangerous structure such as stairs, open ledge of a loft, or junk pile you can be thrown off balance very easily or tripped and fall.

When you are in the dark for a long period of time, especially complete darkness, you can get vertigo very easily. Even though this is not caused by the entity, it can capitalize on this moment of weakness.

The time I was "helped out of the room" by an entity it didn't make contact with my skin because I was wearing a shirt but I could feel the pressure of a hand as it was pushing me out the door. When I had a team member check my back, I had a large bruise in the general shape of a hand. It didn't hurt but it lasted for several days.

At the same investigation another team member was brushed very lightly just below his buttocks, where his butt and hamstring meet. He had a bruise from his lower back to the middle of his hamstring (dark purple). Again, he felt no pain but there was no direct contact with his skin.

Of course visible bruising is caused by the rupturing of capillaries near the surface of your skin.

I think the stinging sensation you felt during the direct contact is from a surface shock caused by electricity. If you have ever been shocked by the wet panel of an electrode you know what this feels like. All the pain is on the surface of your skin, like hundreds of hot needles lightly touching you. It's actually from hundreds of static archs jumping from the electrode to your skin/hair. It will also cause the flushing of the skin, similar to your photo.

This analysis is adhoc at best and may be completely wrong. I am just noting some similar experiences in my past as well as some team members. I am also assuming this is an actual haunting.

Keep in mind also, the entity may have nothing to do with your ASP but instead is capitalizing on your helplessness.

I believe it (bruising) can happen, but that is just my opinion. I have not noticed any marks on my body but have "felt" contact, or what I believe was contact but never cold, never painful.

The one time I was scratched was in a cemetery near my house. It just felt like light itching, the skin wasn't broken but 3 clearly defined (deep purple) scratchmarks were on my upper arm. That happened about, 3 years ago and hasn't happened sense.

My best friend lived in a house that was deemed to be demonically infested for a period of time when we were children. There were several incidents where she was physically touch or attacked.

In one situation, she was standing on the staircase and I was below her. I turned around to address her mother and when I looked back up the landing she was runing down tears streaming down her face. These were not tears of pain or fear, but the kind of tears you get when exposed to realy bright light. She said that a light came around the corner of a bedroom and flashed in her face, blinding her temporarly. Her eyes were bloodshot and teary. I suppose that was an attack of some kind.

Another time, she was pulled from her chair by the leg and dragged across her living room in front of 4 people, including a Baptist minister. She was not injured, but it was not a exactly playful.

My conclusion is that they are possible, and in many different forms.

So basically everyone is agreeing that it is a possibility... That's good to know... I thought that a lot of times people say that ghosts, entities, etc,. can't harm you....?

Shay,
Sometimes when my ghost sits on the bed, gets up and sits again, over and over I go to sleep with that occuring.

On those nights, sometimes I wake up suddenly, in the middle of a big "O", I'm at that time wide awake feeling around me to see if anyone is there.

Then again, I am 57 years old...maybe its just hormones...or the lack of. Whatever, safe sex is safe sex.

P.S. Sorry if I have offended anyone, I'm trying to keep it clean.
