Do you think it's because other people sterotype us as such or do we actually think that we are different? I think that we all know that we are different from the average person...Maybe we are smarter...or our brains are more advanced...Does it take a special person to see,sense,investigate the paranormal or do we just come in contact with it and search for the answers? Are some of us obsessed when it comes to investigating the paranormal or are we left no choice? Just curious why we refer to ourselves the way we do????? So are we: 1. Obsessed 2. Different 3. Smarter 4. All the above |

replied on: 3/1/2006 2:40:13 AM Well, some people say that we humans only uses 10% of our brain, some others say 20%. I have heard different numbers from different places. The point is this, even if we use 50% of our brain, then we are all broken and need to be fixed. Some of us on this forum can sense, see, hear, and feel what others cannot and therefore we use more of our brain than the “normal” people do, this makes us different and somewhat freaky. So am I strange, HELL YES I AM! We are the outcasts of society, we are the next step in human evolution, and we are the things that should not be. Ok, not quite that dramatic, but I like being this way. |

Most people in the world give importance and priority to the things that are temporary; work, play and other. In the West our jobs and lifestyles define who we are in the eyes of other people. Being the social animals we are, we try to gain acceptence from others by falling into this mundane mold. Death is taboo to these people because it means an end to all these things they hold important and believe who they are will be destroyed. We are thought of as weird, nutcases, looney because we focus on something that they fear. Ghost's to them represents their ultimate demise but to us it means continuation. One of my favorite quotes was given by a, now famous fantasy-horror writer from the early 20th century...HP Lovecraft. "I cannot help seeing how shallow, fickle, and meaningless all human aspirations are, and how emptily our real impulses contrast with those pompous ideals we profess to hold." HP Lovecraft |

You know you have a good point there Frank...A lot of people fear their demise so they are afraid to know the answers. I think...other people just don't believe in spirits of any kind but sometimes they bring religion into it and then ....hmmm they incorporate it their way of thinking and what they believe but they put boundries where they need them so that they make themselves feel better..Why not just say yep there is life after death and it's all around us...spirits, entities etc,. nope they think that this is BS but yet they still believe in souls, the after life, heaven, hell etc,. But to them we are freaks for looking for the answers... I bet there are a lot of people who have unexplained things going on and they don't tell anyone because they're embarassed to admit it.......go figure |
