Yes the lense was clean, no , no one was smoking, and the temp was a comfortable 74 degrees. Http://Cpapri.8m.com/BakerMansion.html This pic was taken in Baker Mansion in Altoona PA, and is of an antique wedding gown in a glass display case. I've posted a scanned image and an enlarged image, unfortunatly, the scanned image isn't very good. The actual pic shows the anomoly (I think it's a faerie) as being pinkish in color with some motion blur. (The only blur in the pic) It isn't lense flare or light glare off the case, in fact in the orginal you can see that whatever it is, is inside the case. I also want to let you all know that we have decided to post the original pic up for auction to raise additional funds for new equipment. Below is a link to the auction if you're interested. I will guarentee you that this pic has NOT been tampered with in any way besides scanning and enlarging. http://www.buyselltrades.com/auction/detail.asp?id=71526 |

replied on: 3/15/2006 10:11:10 AM *sigh* I wasn't going to comment on this photo, because I just didn't have it in me to shoot another one of your pics down. But then I noticed you are trying to auction off the photo (and apparantly others too).... >8> As far as this photo goes, once again I appologize, but I just don't see anything whatsoever, even after having downloaded the photo and putting it through several enhancements. The quality is so poor that if something were there, it would still be inconclusive. I don't want to lecture you about auctioning off "evidence", but I will say that it shoots your credibility level down to zero and it does nothing for the credibility of other honest to goodness paranormal investigators either. Especially presenting "evidence" like this, let alone trying to auction it off to boot. If it's that difficult for your group to scrape up a measely $50.00 ($10.00 each x 5 members) for equipment, try having a monthly meeting and charge $5.00 or $10.00 for dues each month. OR you guys could always go donate plasma.... - Aedryan |

replied on: 3/15/2006 12:28:36 PM Well gee, arent you so kind. I am sorry that the scanned image is so crappy. The originals is much clearer and somethng can be seen there. I wouldn't place it up for auction if it wasn't authentic. I'm not going to try and say I know exactly what it is in the pic, but I know it's not natural. It is the only pic out of 10 from that pack of film used in the same location on the same day that shows anything abnormal. I'm sorry if you have a problwm with our auctioning the original off, but yes frankly we do have issues with equipment financing, on a personal level my husband and I work a total of 4 jobs just to keep our regular bills paid, we invest what time we have in our society and right now that's all we can do. As it says in the auction the photo is guarenteed to be authentic and ub-tampered with. If the winner recieves the photo and wants to say there's nothing there, then we will happily give a refund for the return of the photo. I have had this photo for three years and it was a hard decision to auction it off, but facts are, we do need newer equipment, the crappy scanner is evidence of that, and I am not digging us farther into debt by taking out a bank loan to buy it. As far as $50, yeah we could raise that, you'll notice the auction does have a reserve, obviously we are hoping to raise a little more than that. And with that, I do not feel a need to further defend our choice to auction off this pic, if anyone bids on it, then great and if not, fine, we'll manage in time. If I can find a better scanner to get a better image of the photo I will happilly post it. |

replied on: 3/15/2006 2:39:19 PM Sorry, Lee. I'm just giving you my honest opinion and I wasn't insinuating that anyone tampered with the photo. If you'd like to make the original photo available for critique, I would be happy to give it another look, as i'm sure most everyone else would. I would like to know exactly what basis you guys have for labeling this as a "Possible Faerie" though. Again, I appologize, but that is a totally propostorous assumption. I mean, who the hell knows what a faerie looks like or if these mythical creatures even exist? You guys can do whatever ya want. It's your group's reputation. But again, things like this can only further discredit the paranormal investigation community as a whole and by all means, further mis-inform/mis-lead the general public that rolls into your website in seek of good information.... - Aedryan |

replied on: 3/16/2006 5:59:11 AM Anyone who is interested in arranging a personal meeting to see the oringinal is welcome to e-mail me at cpapri@hotmail.com to set up a date and place to meet. I call it a possible faerie only becuase that is what it looks like to us, a tiny figure with almost butterfly like wings. I say possible because I know that it can't be prooven one way or another. By the way this is our first and only auction of any paranormal photos from our personal collection. And photos from investigations we were asked to do by outside sources are only shared on our site with their permission. We are not attempting to discredit the community in any way, those posting and selling obvious fakes are the ones trying to do the discrediting. I am willing to submit this pic to any testing offered that would not damage it to proove it is the real thing. Also, yes the image on our site is a crop of the original, unfortunatly the whole original was too big of a file to upload. |

replied on: 3/16/2006 10:49:40 AM Who did you submit this photo to in order to deem it paranormal in nature? What secondary evidence do you have that backs up your claim? Listen, I understand your frustration with some of these very tough questions, especially when you are just trying to make a little money for more equipment. Although not all of us try to sell anything considered to be even possibly paranormal, we all have felt the sting of criticism from time-to-time. Being that there is no other evidence to suggest that this is a paranormal event, I would have to say it is a smudge or a reflection off the "glass case" you mentioned. There is nothing else (besides your word) to corroborate your story. Of course that is my opinion! |

replied on: 3/16/2006 12:53:42 PM Baker Mansion is actually fairly well known in it's area for it's activity. I have been ther three times myself to run low-key investigations, just basic temp and emf readings, pics, and evp sweeps. I have gotten several evps, odd temp and emf readings and other pics that are unusal, but none that I would be willing to argue over at this time. I haven't submitted this pic anywhere else, but again as I have said, I am willing to. The new euipment we are aiming to get is actually so that we can do a full investigation on this site. If you want to see the oringinal in person I'd be happy to arrange it. |

replied on: 3/17/2006 3:44:23 AM I'm sorry for that. I'm looking for a better scanner, as the one I have now is a hand-me-down and apparently doesn't work well. As soon as I find one, or can borrow a better one, I will post a clearer image of the original. |

replied on: 3/17/2006 5:50:03 AM Did you take the picture on a 35mm camera? You could take it to walmart to have it put on cd. Or if the file size is to big to put on the internet you can email it to frank. |

replied on: 3/17/2006 6:20:43 AM I missed the part about the poloroid. You could still take it to walmart, some have decent scanners there to make copies and I think they can put it on CD too. |

replied on: 3/17/2006 10:07:11 AM How can a dinky (3 x 5?) polaroid photo be that large of a file size? I don't get that. What is the file size, Lee? - Aedryan |

replied on: 3/17/2006 10:23:21 AM I think "displayed in a glass case" are the key words here. I would look around the room for portraits and things like that. I played around with the image and got the faintest impression of a face, but it could be a reflection on the glass from a picture in the room. |
