I honestly wonder if I can give an answer to this.. the answer is yes, and the answer to your question, I would say is the latter. Sure, you may think you're happy. But ask yourself this - have you ever felt happy? Have you ever felt happiness buzz inside you? 'Cause I sure as fuck haven't. You know that "feeling" that surges through your body like an orgasm? Like anger, depression, etc., well have you ever had a feeling of happiness?

I have, but it's only temporary. It doesn't surround me constantly like guilt or depression. I wonder why we're only capable of feeling negative emotions consistently.

It is a curious thought, perhaps it's all psychological? Maybe because we expect them, we notice them more than positive emotions?

I would answer this with a no. It is not human nature to be static. Therefore, we will eventually move into a situation which is unpleasant, upsetting us.
