i have figured that defense-wize it would be tons more efficient to build sprites instead of dryads cuz 900plat gives me 9 defense from sprites where 1000 gives me 7 defense (assuming 80% forest) from dryads. but would it benefit me more in the long run to build dryads? would i save enough plat in wizard costs to make it worth it? or should i buy sprites and buy wizards?

Start training sprits(1000-4000) and later elite, if your forest grow up. You dont need to build wizzards.

3 sprites may give you 9 DP, but that also lowers your income by at least 6 plat per hour. Since the plat per point difference is about 43, the dryad becomes more efficient after only 24 hours, and that's not factoring in 1/10th the cost of an archmage. Only build 1000-4000 like SonsOfDiablo says, then start training Dryads.

ok, so i figure i should train about 2500 for the first 24hrs oop, then as i'm confverting land from plains to forests i should switch to dryads. does that sound about right?

ok i've played sylvan for 5+ rounds and i always loved them. heres what i've done with them. 25 hours till OOP have 20% smithies build a lot of dryads on the 13th hour, at this time having 150 forest havens appx. then on the last hour of protection swing those 20% smithies into forest they dont have to be built just in forest. you should be able to come OOP with 600 dryads, 150-200 FH and about 450-500 acres. i usually run about 75% forest for the first 2 weeks, 20% homes, 20% lumberyards, 35% FH... then when i hit about 25k def, i switch my FH to GT. this gives me about 5k more def. and i put 15% into lumberyards. the FH have a real benefit at the beginning. but just get inneffecient after that. i run dryads and centuars the entire round you use up a lot of effeciency in building 70%+ forest the first 2 weeks and 50%+ after that, you dont have room to have a bunch of spec units sitting around. Final Defense (after morale) : 6,712, this puts you well above the OP of most people for the next week and you can explore or build off.
