replied on: 6/5/2003 1:41:47 PM Of course. Maybe I'll integrate the auto-submit-to-Viruz's-DB thing too. It would require you to use the web browser in the DP calc, but for most that shouldn't be a huge issue. We'll see. I'll probably have to do two versions.... |

replied on: 6/5/2003 4:58:57 PM That would be cool, coz i use your battle calc a lot, its the easiest and most accurate i've come across so to update the db at viruz's site would b a bonus for plat targets etc |

replied on: 6/7/2003 4:51:26 AM My calc is now updated for round 18 You can get it at: www.mickles.tk The excel version (.xls) is the actual calc, however the .htm version is a version that can be run online, although I believe you need to have excel installed for this. Enjoy |

replied on: 6/7/2003 5:31:09 PM Doing all your calcs by hand is a good way to learn how everything works, but once you have a good knowledge of the game mechanics and the troop values, automating the process is much less time consuming. Viruz's DB is very nice. What you do is copy and paste Realm pages, Premium Searches, and Top 100 pages into the db and it then compares the networth and acres of each dominion to the last time you entered them (this means it does nothing the first time you use it because it has no previous data for comparisons). For example, if you entered this realm page yesterday: Dominion Race Acres Networth Joe(#2) Goblin 3000 563876 Bob(#2) Dark Elf 2500 452345 Mary(#2) Kobold 2000 210531 And then enter it today when it looks like this: Joe(#2) Goblin 3000 545678 Bob(#2) Dark Elf 2700 462453 Mary(#2) Kobold 2000 215354 Viruz's DB would show you that Joe gained no land and lost 18198 points of networth, Bob gained 200 acres and 10108 points of networth, and Mary gained no land and 4823 points of networth. The DB would point out that Mary is probably inactive (and may have a lot of plat available to steal). Joe's networth loss would indicate that he either attacked or got attacked (and was probably a good target). Bob's results would show that he just gained 200 acres and maybe weakend because he's a DE (who's defense depends on WG's may not not be built yet). It should be mentioned that the information you put in the DB is not public. If I make a username and password for a DB, it will only use the data I enter and will be kept seperate from yours. I could share my username and password with my pack mates, but if too many people use the same database, it becomes less effective. Mickles had a sheet that would look at how much networth was lost and attempt to guess how much offense was lost, thus letting us guess how much offense was sent out, thus letting us guess how much defense is left at how. I'm planning on doing something similar with my DP calc that has the integrated web browser since it will automatically submit every realm page, top list, and search to Viruz's DB. |

replied on: 6/7/2003 6:37:38 PM My basic Excel Attack Calculator is updated for round 18 and available for download. I am still working on the Attack Calculator that integrates with Viruz's DB. |

replied on: 6/9/2003 12:20:46 AM Is the Land-Gain-Formula working correct at your site mickles? I searched a while for a correct formula, guess your estimated acres are correct (also i sometimes think the gained acres must be bigger...but im probably wrong with that) Did you check that yourself or is it really just "estimated"? |

replied on: 6/9/2003 8:55:13 PM jonnyb>> that was correct to about +/- 5 acres in round 16. Its certainly not correct now when attacking below 75%, and i noticed as well that gains were a big higher than that when hitting above 75%. The formula was changed for round 17, and I havent figured out/gotten a new yet yet. Gains @ 66% are about 4% less than this gives; below that it goes way off. so no its not correct, but atm its the best I have. If someone can figure out the new formula, that would be splendid. |

replied on: 6/23/2003 11:32:37 AM What will be an even bigger crime is when I get the attack calculator with the integrated web browser tested out. It will then paste EVERY realm page, prem search, and top list into a DB for you. All you have to do is click the buttons on the Dom web page (Viruz is considerably more leanient about scripts than Ross is). But that's not all! Not only does it submit the data to a Viruz DB automatically, it also parses the output from Viruz's DB to find dominion's in your range that have either a very low networth or a networth loss of more than 2%. It then pastes these results onto a targets page for you and performs some analysis to point out which are good targets. You can then decide if you want to do ops on that wimpy looking Wood Elf that will get you 75 acres or try to get 130 acres from that Dwarf that appears to have attacked. But wait there's more! I am working on parsing the ops that you do so they are automatically pasted into the calculator. Again, all you have to do is click the buttons on the Dominion page to do the ops. The calculator will automatically take the op results from the web page and begin calculating the targets offense and defense. Still not satisfied? Remember, this is new functionality that will be added to the already numerous features of the current calculator. Features like historical ops data and pastable output. What will all this cost? Nothing. We're providing these features to you free of charge in a shameless attempt to buy your loyalty. It is our belief that loyal customers will spread the word and give us a great word of mouth marketing campaign since Ross won't add any website that hasn't been around for at least 10 rounds to his links page (being updated and filled with current info is not a requirement however). |
