The barracks spy is only 85% accurate. It can give you a report that makes someone 15% stronger or weaker than they really are so if you want to be sure to win your attack you have to add 15% to the troops in the barracks spy even though that may already be an exaggeration of the person's actual strength.

wat if ive finished computing the dp of all the units that the barracks spy was able to get snd try and divede it by .85 would i get the exact dp of my target?

ex:

85%= 2000dp

2000/.85= 23529.41 = 100% ???

No, you have to multiply by 1.15

I'm pretty sure tim_myth said divide by 85% somewhere on the site. ive never been sure. it would be ez to figure out what the attk calc does (the one that tells you if youve cleared the lowball spy)

"2) You calced his Vamps wrong. Instead of dividing by 1.15 do it this way: His CS showed 12259. The BS showed 9925 out and 3586 at home. Accounting for the 85% accuracy, thats (9925 * .85) 8436 as the minimum possible number out and (3586 / .85) 4219 as the maximum number at home. Combining this with the CS information (12259), he either has (12259 - 8436) 3823 at home or 4219 at home. Since both are maximum possible values based on the information at hand, we want to choose the the smaller of the two. Thus, he has at most 3823 Vamps at home. Also, the number isn't 1.15. It's really (1 / .85) 1.176470588235294...repeating. That's why its easier to multiply and divide by .85 instead"

Dontcha love percentages? I mean, I walk into a store to get a soda and a candy bar and what do I see? Soda that says I get 20% more for free, and a candy bar that advertises 25% more for free. It sounds like I get more free stuff from the candy bar, right? Well, the candy bar is only 1.5 ounces "normally" while the soda is 20 ounces "normally". 20% of my soda makes it 24 ounces, while my candy bar only gained a measly .375 ounces.

Now, if I bought a soda that claimed I was getting 20% more for free, and it was 24 ounces, how would I figure out how big the old "rip-me-off" bottles were? Since I'm getting 20% more for free, I could try multiplying by .8 (80%), but that would only give me 19.2 ounces, which is not correct. Instead, I have to divide by 1.2 (120%) to get the regular 20 ounce bottle.

Here's the math:

X = original size
X * 120% = 24 ounces
(Divide both sides by 1.2 and we get:)
X = 24 ounces / 1.2

The BS works just the same except that since we could be either bigger or smaller, we need to figure out both 15% smaller AND 15% larger.
