replied on: 6/5/2003 10:20:06 AM And you plan on sleeping when?  I've always wondered about suicide squads. I don't like the idea of 50% casulaties, but they are cheap, and that seems to make up for it. Assuming you take 250 acres OOP, your cost per acre is only 501.6. Not to bad, but in comparison to other races with a 3OP, 325p spec, its expensive. You would need 1667 3op specs from another race to get 5000 OP. If you take 8.5% casualtes, thats 142 dead. Multiply that by 325, divide by 250 (the land we gained), and you come out with a cost per acre of 185 plat. That's almost 1/3 the cost for SS's. I'm sure that inefficiency gets made up somewhere, and that's what I don't understand about Gnomes.

replied on: 6/5/2003 1:37:59 PM hehehe...I have to amend a): Sleep is for women and old men (like me). b) That is a very nice thing about SSs, they don't hang around as long as the specs from other races. I had about 7000 brutes at my high point last round, and I still had 2k left by rounds end. As for them paying for themselves, that's a very slippery question. You'll have about 650 casualties withing the first hour OOP, but that's ok because it'll only take about 4-5 hours to get them all back as peasants. I'd have to take a lot more into account than what I am, but some quick and dirty says it would take about 100 hours. |
