I ended up with 632 land and my buildings like this: 236 Alchs 5 Ore Mines 14 Towers 20 DMs 25 LY 50 Farms 95 Homes 60 Barracks 127 Smithies My army was 1100 Longbows, 50 Spies, 50 Wizards and 10 Archmages. My keep was only 3%, and I didn't invest in anything else, but I plan to get DMs ~750 land and get the +5% gem production bonus first (on my way to the +10% plat production bonus). Like I said earlier, you may want to take out some of those smithies. This strat was designed for Wave 6 Human using Knights from the start. The smithies are far less effective when training spec troops. -Regis
Regis	Woodie Sim replied on: 6/7/2003 3:45:29 PM Actually, nothing changed. With the old rules 1 LY produced 96 points for improvements and 1 DM produced 144. That is 50% more efficient to use DMs. Under the current rules the difference is 120 to 180, making it, again, 50% more efficient to use DMs. -Regis

Regis	Woodie Sim replied on: 6/7/2003 3:04:05 AM I just did a 60 hour sim to see what I could do. I slightly adapted my wave 6 Human strat and went from there. I used 20% smithies, but I had problems with draftees so you might want to scrap 5-10% into homes and 5-10% into alchs. It might just make the strat better. I'm not really sure, but increasing the homes percentage to 20-25% would let you get *some* mystics as well and alleviate the draftee shortage. Regis	Woodie Sim replied on: 6/7/2003 2:06:04 AM Besides the mistake in training Longbows I only found two things I'd change. First, if she is using longbows OOP-2.5k acres why all the lumberyards now? They are just not efficient enough if you aren't using Mystics/Druids. Try with them as Alchs and DMs instead (mostly alchs) and you'll notice a big difference in what you can do though draftees might be more of a problem. The other thing was exploring often. That just drives up the cost of each acre later. I'm pretty sure that if she went with the alchs instead of LYs and esplored every 11 hours she could do 632 land with 4700 defense OOP. I'll see if I can do that myself wave 3 and post it later.
