replied on: 7/5/2007 11:47:02 PM Let's see... Converted mana cost is the total number of mana in the casting cost (excluding Kickers and Echo, etc). So 3 is just 3. 1R is 2. 5GGG is 8. etc. Colors you know. WUBRG. Types are Artifact, Creature, Enchantment, Instant, Land, and Sorcery. Also probably Tribal or Planeswalker. So... say it was started with Mana Prism, a 3-mana artifact. The response would have to be either colorless (lands, artifacts, and a handful of other cards like Ghostfire), an artifact, or both. And it would have to cost either 2 or 4. Since lands never have a cost and almost all artifacts are colorless (and Ghostfire costs 3, so it's out), you're pretty much only going to reply with either a 2-mana artifact (such as Worn Powerstone), or a 4-mana artifact (such as Thran Dynamo). And yes, I managed to make that entire example mana-producing artifacts. I'm awesome. ... Anyway. Clear now? |
