they seem to do pretty well when you look at the standings as of late. first place in their division. neat stuff. are they any good on the ice?

also, dallas. stanley cup material? or just lucky, what do you think. or vancouver maybe, or still detroit?

and what's up with those rangers? they seem to suck as of late (not that that was different last season...). can't bure, holik and those other new guys i forgot make this a good team? everybody that comes to maddison square garden in a rangers jersey seems to get into a slump.

the scoring race, markus naslund seems to be on a roll lately. will he win it?

trying to liven some things up here

Hoy Stefan! Some time since I talked with you.

The Caps are doing pretty well, yeah. I just wish Jagr would be getting more points so that he would have chance to beat Mario and Näslund.
Markus sure is playing well. His line is really good and he is picking up lots of power play points as well.
Not much of a chance for Jagr to beat him, but the main thing is that the Caps make the playoffs and that Jagr is doing his best.
But, yes, I think Näslund will win the scoring-title.
Forsberg is doing well too and that super line with Tanguay and Hejduk, but I think the other Swede is a little bit sharper when it comes to collecting points.

heh. No the Rangers just are cursed. Might have to do with the fact that they have been playing too offensively too. Even a team with that many players can't only play offense.

By the way. Have you noticed the huge amount of views on the threads? One of them here has over a hundred.
Wish all those people that come in here can check the message board could write a line as well.

yeah i have noticed. most boards have a lot of readers, but apperently this one has more than avarage

so it's not like naslund just found his touch? it's more of the combined power of his line.

jags needs to put op more points regularly. he sometimes has a couple, then he go's without for a while. he needs to be on the board every night. then he'll stand a chance against the two up front. i read in your report he's playing with miller (did you know "kip" means "chicken" in dutch?) and lang now. that seems like a good line to me. has he been playing with them often?

Oh, Näslund definitely had got "touch". He is playing well himself, but that he is on a good team and is playing on a really strong line sure is helping.

Cassidy split the Jagr, Nylander and Miller line the Florida game Jagr had 3 goals and 4 assists in. That game the line had Lang and Miller on it, and after that they haven't really split it up.
It hasn't actually been that good after that game and I liked the Nylander line better myself. I think Jagr got more points with Nylander too as an average.
But sure, the current line is okay. It's the only one that turns up about almost every game for the Caps.
Bondra is starting to score again now, and that sure is a good thing.
Okay, now I know kip means chicken in dutch!

oh ic. tobad jagr is of the line with nylander then. eventhough he might be able to show something with lang and miller. he has done that before. it's about the points now.

i'm stil considering ottawa as a big contender. especially when you look at their goals for and against. they seem to play pretty wel on defense and on offense.

btw, has the weather been so good in finland as it was here? in februari we had twice as much hours of sun (i donno how they calculate that, but it was pretty sunny all month). very very nice weather!

Hi guys! Wanted to get my two cents worth in on the scoring race. Of course, I'd love to see Mario or Jagr take it, but Naslund certainly has the inside track playing on an outstanding team. But I would never count Forsberg out -- he is amazing! I love to watch him play because you never know what he will do next.

Stevy, you asked about the Stars. They are definitely "for real". Right now with their regular goalie out they are struggling a little with Tugnutt, but offensively and defensively they are one solid team. Modano still plays like he did years ago and Zubov is still a great player.

And the Rangers? What a mess! Just goes to show you that buying an all star team doesn't always work. But as Fredrik said, they have no defense to go with their strong offensive lineup, when they are scoring. You look at the names on the roster and all you can do is scratch your head. On the opposite side, the Wild are doing extremely well with a cast of non-stars and in only their third year or existence.

hi jan, long time no see! how are you?

the stars indeed have a little "slump" now with tugnutt, but turco should be back real soon, so i don't really see a problem there for them. i keep hearing around me they'll go all the way. really getting fired up for the playoffs now. can't wait to see how things will turn out eventually.

lol, yeah the rangers... even the red hot kovalev can't help them get better. what surprises me is that they do have some big names on defense there. brian leetch for example, tom poti and ofcourse kaspar. funny to see they can't get it done there. i think they need a real good goalie. i mean, dunham and richter are o.k. but no roy, belfour (on a good day), joseph, brodeur, etc.

Hi Stevy!

I'm good - how about you?

Since the Pens have to face the Stars tonight, I'm hoping Tugnutt doesn't play well, but we'll see. Guerin has been such a great addition to Dallas too.

Yeah, the Rangers have some good individual defensemen, but they get no help from the forwards and the goalies aren't too great as you said.

At the end of this month, I'm going on a hockey trip. I fly to Ottawa, then go by bus to Toronto, Buffalo, and Montreal. I'll see four games in five nights, go to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and do some other fun things. I can't wait! Since it will be the last week of the regular season, some of the games could still be deciding playoff positions.

Oh, I forgot about the board completely, first now I remebered that me and Stevy had been talking here.
Nice, you, Jan jumped in here to talk with us too!

Ah, I wish I could say the same about Finland's weather, Stefan. I haven't seen the sun for more than two weeks! Really depressive.
It's about 0 degrees celsius here now. If the sun started to shine I suppose we'd get rid of more of that snow too.
Oh, well. At least the days have become "longer" = it is light longer in the day.

Forsberg sure is nice to watch. Especially when he is rolling, and that he is doing now.
Hejduk, another one of my fave players, is an excellent player too. Really skilled with the puck and he is scoring like wild too right now.
