He's pushing the Heatwave on all fronts and at every opportunity, and can use our help to make this year's event successful. Despite the downward pressure being exerted on the economy in general, it looks like we're again going to attract most of the region's top name pilots and aircraft. As I've said many times, if everyone will contribute a couple of hours, no single member will be overburdened, and we will guarantee another successful event. This is our one and only fund raising event for the year (except annual dues) and the profits help us with the general upkeep and improvements to the property. So, please volunteer. Here's Tim's message - The Heatwave is drawing near on July 24th (although the pilots will start showing up Wednesday morning). We are getting National attention and being billed on flyinggiants.com as "the next big thing." The Heatwave will be covered on their home page throughout the weekend via photos and articles being sent from the field. If you are a member of another forum, make sure you get the word out there also. YOU ARE OUR AMBASSADORS! I am encouraged by the amount of emails I am getting about the Heatwave's attendance. Already have commitment from 5 states and the numbers are growing! If you haven't seen the Tulsa Glue Dobbers Home Page, be sure to check the Heatwave section ( http://www.tulsagluedobbers.com/ )with pics of the three 60% airplanes that will be flying at the Heatwave. I saw all three fly last weekend in St. Louis. The Cub has a 275CC motor, while the two Extra 260's have 384cc motors. We still need help, and the more of you that respond, the less everyone else needs to do. The jobs aren't hard, and you get to watch some of the best flying in the Nation.
