| DrVeraJenkins old dear Rank: Jasper | Mr Dolan - the blind shopkeeper posted on: 11/20/2003 9:38:31 PM Anyone remember Mr Dolan who ran a newsagent on Harborne High Street in the 1960s? He never admitted to anyone that he was going blind, and used to feel the coins with his finger tips so you wouldn't guess. He had a little strategy of engaging you in conversation to give him time to have a good feel of the money in his palm. I think decimalisation was what finally betrayed him. |

replied on: 11/23/2003 12:54:43 PM There used to be a blind match seller outside of BHS when I was a kid. We were scared shitless of him although I can not remember why. |
