replied on: 1/14/2004 10:44:54 PM Were they the ones with a gay frontman called Ben? Posh accent and floppy fringe? Delicious Monster were rather good. Got into the Indie charts on a number of occasions (Power Missy was the best single they had out). Sounded like P.J. Harvey meets the Sundays? The worst obscure Birmingham band I ever saw was Low Art Thrill. Again, the frontman was real camp and called, believe it or not, Jeremy! Public school type too! A real toffee-nosed twat in need of a good kicking. Heaven knows why they thought they'd ever make it. |

replied on: 1/15/2004 8:51:59 PM Yep, that's them (Sweet Jesus). Their most "famous" song was 'Albino Ballerina'. I think they only had a few singles and possibly an album |

replied on: 1/16/2004 1:41:44 PM Does anyone remember the Bicycle Thieves? Apparently they split up because the lead singer was a bigheaded tosser. I can't confirm this though. They were quite good. |

replied on: 1/16/2004 3:54:10 PM Yes, I think I may have twatted their frontman in a nightclub brawl. Bonkers, I think it was (the nightclub, not the brawl). |

replied on: 1/20/2004 10:13:31 PM There used to be a 3 piece band about 10 years ago called The Evergreens who played concerts around the old people's homes. The lead singer and trumpet player was about 60 and he wore a ginger rug, and (this is the God's honest truth) his 85 year old woman stood up at a synthesiser and his dad played a full drum kit. I remember one occasion they were playing a gig at the Aimsbury Centre at Moseley Hall and there was a little old dear sat in the front row staring at the lead singer throughout the concert and towards the end he asked her, "have you got any requests my dear?" to which she pointed a finger towards his head and replied "Is that a wig son?" .... The Evergreens ... absolutely fabulous. Where are they now? They're probably The Evergreen. Or The Everginger. |

replied on: 1/26/2004 1:49:36 PM I was upset when The International split up after only one single. Still the fabled live booleg "The First Coming: Live at the Kynoch Club 1999" is soem consolation. |
