The contents of the thread may not always be of great quality (or lucidity) but they are the product of someones labors and I can not bring myself to destroy their (our) efforts. I met Mittonsmate at the BiNS Xmas piss up and it turned out that we used to have a beer together in the late lamented "Willies Wine Bar". I think my ex once punched him on the nose. Of course I am saddened that I am no longer Peakies favorite Brummie but pleased that I once held that position in her steely heart. Even in the dark (golden) age of Pravda.ru when it was without moderation I never managed to receive two death threats on the same day.

Do you remember Fall-Over Phil, the Evening Mail journalist who used to sit at the bar every night drinking copious quantities of red wine and then ..err.. fall over? I wonder where he goes to fall over now. I certainly can't remember your ex ever punching me. In fact if it's Pru you're talking about, I seem to recall that she always used to give me a very pleasant smile whenever she saw me. I did used to get thrown out of there occasionally for talking too much about psychedelic philosophy though.

Well yes, I did get banned eventually, but that was on account of my alcoholic girlfriend at the time calling the gaffer a c.unt in front of his mates when he refused to serve her after hours.

I remember him staggering from the pub one night and as we watched him cross the road his wooden leg kept on giving way under him. He had been such a pain that night that no one got off there arse to help him. Fall Down Phil was last seen falling over in the Church on Gt Hampton St. One of my fondest memories of Willies was of Martin, the owner, who used to take plates of sarnies to the girls in the knocking shop up the road.

If you got very drunk you fell back down the steps until some one came and rescued you. I gave one of the bairmaids (Jo I think)a kitten. As to the problem of over enthusiastic use/ or the sabotage of vinegar bottles. I am not taking the blame for that one, but Mittonsmate looks to me not only a stalker but a loosener of bottle tops.
