| BigNosePhil | Duran Duran posted on: 2/19/2004 8:41:34 AM I luv Brum, me! Only these days I live in Hong Kong (bin there for the last 8 years) and I only get to see the beloved Mother Land once, maybe twice a year at best. Anyways, my missus (who's Canadian) came to Brum for the first time last year and she thought is was the dogs knob!! In her own words "Back when I was growing up in northern British Columbia, Canada, I never thought I'd be important enough to go to the same place Duran Duran are from." And she was right, she's not........but I took her anyway. So there you go........Brum's not shit, we've got Duran Duran and even American / Canadian type people know they're from Brum!!! Best site on the whole binternet this is.........keep up the good work fellas!! Big Nose. |

As well as being the venue for their first gig, the Rum Runner (which was where the Hyatt now stands on Broad Street) was also where the band used to party and snort mountains of Bolivian marching powder in the back room with such visiting rock luminaries as Pete Townshend. Allegedly. |
