One short comment on calling a black Chelsea player a "f*cking lazy n*gger". Please bear in mind though, Ron is NOT a racist apparently. He's had to resign his position with ITV and had his contract to write a footy cloumn in The Guardian terminated by mutual consent. I thought Rusbridger was a bit more liberal than that. Really, whilst I'm a bit disappointed in him, what is the world coming to when someone like Ron is gagged in this fashion? |

Given all the efforts to tackle racism in football - it was the only thing to do. Fucking lazy wanker would have sufficed really, wouldn't it? However - seems odd that Big Ron is banished from der media for this yet Jim Davidson, Bernard Manning et al are still churning out their bigotry. I suspect Big Ron'll be back once its died down a bit... |

He's had to go now, of course as is right - but isn't it worse to think that there were racist/sexist/whateversist people in the media that don't get caught? how can you tell? my big ron joke:

We'll get a reputation soon, and sports teams will refuse to play us, and outsiders will think birmingham is like 'Mississippi Burning' (hope I spelled that correctly!) It seems strange though, that a man who made his managerial name bringing some of the first prominent black players through (Regis, Cunningham, Moses et al) even thinks stuff like that any more, let alone say it. It's a shame he wasn't as anti-black players when he signed that useless twát John "focus" Fashanu for the Villa. BTW,they were still selling Fido Dido posters in Madeira when I was there a couple of years back, so he never went away, he's been lurking around on the continent. Like Rabies. |

Perhaps this a moment to evaluate whether those jokes are funny, should we say something next time, do we need to un-discriminate our institutions? Not as funny as I'd hoped. How come Dwight Yorke soldiered under the claret and blue banner for so long without setting the goal of the month award alight. Probably Ron's fault. I demand an enquiry, a guilty verdict on jangle jangle's head and a re-writing of football history in Villa's favour! |

It will focus on who says it and why they say it and who's allowed to get away with it and who isn't. Who thought this one up? Is he the most famous person to say the 'N' word? Why not have Ice Cube do it? |
