String Theory!!!!!
replied on: 12/19/2004 7:52:17 AM I need to really know how much you know already. String theory concides in 10 dimensions. String Theories main priciple is that all things are made of strings of energy and from here as you probally know alot of weird things come into existance. Just ask any questions on this thread. Also if you are interested I liked the book: Hyperspace by Micho Kaku, it's worth reading. Also I would visit this site: http://superstringtheory.com/ It is for both beginners and the advanced. Furthermore, JUST at this moment I have created a forum about abstract physics and one of the catagories is devoted to solely String Theory. Give it ago if you want. http://s8.invisionfree.com/The_Quantum_Factor Have fun |

replied on: 1/8/2005 6:16:11 PM Hi Manafestation, There are many variations of String Theory, where the different numbers of dimensions are needed, even through M-Theory has been formed different amounts of dimensions are accepted - even up to the extent of 26 dimensions. If you want to ask any more questions feel free |

replied on: 1/17/2005 4:44:29 AM while we are on the topic of dimensions it is pretty common knowledge that time is the forth dimension... i would like to know if temperature could classed as a dimension... if not... why??? |

replied on: 1/19/2005 1:57:44 PM Physically temperatutre is treated as a dimnesion as is speed etc etc. HOWEVER the key difference is that you do not travel through temperature as you do in time so really it is not classed as a dimension. |

replied on: 2/8/2005 1:05:41 PM I'm reading "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene - it's mindblowing. Another great book is "Stephen Hawking - Quest for A Theory Of Everything" written by Kitty Ferguson. I love Cosmology and delving around the universe in general! |

String Theory!!!!!
replied on: 3/10/2005 5:23:14 PM Hi everyone, I'm new here. String Theory is simply incredible, and, I think (should it be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt), it would really change our existence as we know it. I've been trying to find more books on the subject, and most everything thus far has been non-fiction, of course. Although, I did recently order a fiction book concerning the subject, and it's the first fictional "novel" that I've found. It's called "Daniel's Veil" by an author, R.H. Stavis. However, in this book, the theory is alternately called "Slim Veil". I'm in the midst of reading it now, and I have to say, it's well done thus far. Anyone else know of any good fiction or non-fiction books on Strings other than what's previously stated? Thanks! |
