morning all.

my question refers to a part of eistiens special theory of relativity. the particular part in question is how he predicted that an atomic clock will run slower when it is moving, compared to an identical stationay one. i know that this is because the speed of light is relative.

so what i want to know is if this effect will hold true for all types of clocks, in particular a humans body clock.

Hi yes all clocks are included within the theory of relativity if that was what you meant.

This hold is even further emphasized when considering the human body clock, and of all internal organism clocks. If you traveled at the speed of light you would noticed that time was flowing.

Any more question just ask

so if my understanding is correct... a computer nerd (ie. me) should live longer (in comparision to the clock on the wall) than an athlete (excluding health factors and the fact that the difference would me extremely small).

another question on this matter...

can we realy trust the clocks we use. i wonder this because the earth is spinning realy quickly, traveling aroung the sun even faster and following the sun through space faster still

Sorry I had a typo in my message what I meant was that at the speed of light you WON'T notice time flowing.

Thus meaning that because the athelet travels at higher speeds he is travelling slower in time. However this slow in time is SO minute you wouldn't notice it unless you went very fast.

I not using this forum as a place to publicize my forum but the wait for a reply here is enormous while at my small but active one you usually get a reply in a few hours. I hope to see you there

but the principle is there... someone who moves quickly ages quicker than someone who doesnt

No. It is the other way round.

When something moves the clock gets SLOWER so for an athelete because he on average moves faster his body clock will go SLOWER meaning that he will age slower.
