Krag-Tal looked at Glen and nodded his agreement. "All right, I'll come with you. I'm sure that the feeling of distrust is mutual, so I won't bother saying anything." He looked thoughtfully out at the coast for a moment, trying to recall his time in Gnisis then said, "I'm a little familiar with Gnisis. I was stationed at Fort Darius for a little while, but I didn't get the chance to get to know the whole town." He looked at the small wizard. "He's probably your best bet, if you need someone who knows it."

"Good. I'll accompany you to Gnisis, because you'll need my Mark point. But once we're there, we'll go our separate ways. I wish you both good luck, though only one of you derserves it.

"Go ahead, wizard. Cast your Recall spell."

The Elf raised his hands, and after a short burst of light, they were standing in Gnisis.

Lysanna was the first to speak. "So this is goodbye then. Maybe we'll see each other again some day." She sighed and turned around, walking away.

Glen looked around through the town. Something didn't seem right, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He turned to the wizard.

Elf, lets go and get your daughter, but I dont think we should spend much time here, it feels like someones watching me out here in the open like this. I'll give you an hour to get your daughter and your things ready. Then were going to the closest ship port to get you out of Morrowind.

He gave another quick glance around the edges of town, but he still thought that even an hour would still be too much time... if they wern't already in a trap.

Lysanna watched Glen, Krag-Tal and the Elf go, and her vision doubled. She wiped away the tear that welled up in her eye, and turned away for the last time.

Glen turned in time to see Lysanna walking away. (Dammit... she shouldnt of come this far... if she gets hurt I'll never forgive myself. Its best if no one knows she's with me though... I hope she understands.) He turned to Krag-Tal and the wizard.

"Guys... we should *really* try and hurry up. Come on, get the lead out of your asses and get done already. And Kraggy... I want you to keep an eye on Lysanna, but dont let her know yer following her. Can I count on you?"

OOC: Really sorry I haven't been able to post. Got finals and all pretty soon, so I don't have a lot of time:/

Krag-Tal stared at Glen for a moment, considering Glen's proposal. "Why on Tamriel would I do that? If anyone needs someone to look after them, it's you. Lysanna isn't known like you are. The Commona Tong has no reason to look for her." He shook his head slowly. "And don't give me any crap about how you work alone. What happens when they get smart and they send the Dark Brotherhood after you? What then? You're going to wish you had a backup." He jerked a thumb back in Lysanna's direction. "Besides, Lysanna is a big girl. I'm sure she can deal with a couple of muggers or petty thieves."

Stormy, don't forget to control the wizard too. I'm kinda waiting on that.

"Have your way... but if she gets hurt I'll have you remember these words you speak in foolishness." Glen thought he might be right, but then again probably not. They probably didn't even know the two knew each other, and if Krag-Tal wanted to stay by his side and get killed, it was his right to do so.

OOC: I hope I'm not holding up progress with my lack of posts...I'll be able to post a lot more after Tuesday since school will be out for winter break.

"You know, Glen," Krag-Tal started, "I wish you'd stop trying to get rid of me." He looked at Glen hard for a moment then continued, "If you're worried about me getting killed, stop. Don't worry about my safety over your own. The Comonna Tong hate me too for bringing in so many of their members for bounties, so I think we're in about the same amount of danger. No matter where I go, I'd be putting someone in danger just like you."
He glanced back in the direction of Lysanna's departure. "And I know you don't want anything to happen to Lysanna." He shrugged. "So we might as well pool our experience with the Tong and stick together. I can tell you're a talented fighter, and I was active in the Legion for years, so we'll have a much better chance of survival if we stay together."

Lysanna kicked a pebble sulkily. It skittered over the dirt street of Gnisis before ticking against a wall. It had gotten significantly colder while she and Glen had said their goodbyes, and now a cold drizzle had started to fall. Lysanna made no effort to keep from getting wet. The weather was the last thing on her mind. A Khajiit passed by her hastily, carrying a bag of food, and entered a house, from where shouts and verbal abuse began to issue promptly. Lysanna didn't care. Stupid Khajiit should have done the shopping faster.

Her boots shuffled along on the dirt road... the drizzle was not strong enough to turn the dirt into mud, but it was compacting a little already. The drizzle turned into a light rain.

"What am I going to do now?" she asked quietly. Her thoughts were a mess of contradictions and speculations, each one more confused than the one before. The Imperial Legion maybe? She wondered. What was left for her there? Nothing. She was mad at Glen for having humiliated her, but she also felt she had failed herself. Is she'd proven herself to Glen, he wouldn't have had to -

A hissing sound behind her snapped her back to reality. In that split second, she did the worst thing possible: she turned her head to see what the sound was.

The arrow struck her in the left eye, knocking her head back and impaling her brain. The arrowhead didn't exit the back of her head, but was instead stopped by her skull. Lysanna staggered a few steps, trying to scream but only managing a blood-choked gurgle. The last she felt was her bladder letting go and blood streaming down through her sinuses and into her nose and throat. She fell over, but never felt her body hit the ground.

Her right eye stared open into the gray sky, filling up with rain.

"Glen, I'm *telling* you..." Krag-Tal begun, but he trailed off when he saw the people passing by them. "Hm... looks like something's happened. Maybe we should check it out... could have something to do with our problem."

Glen shrugged and they both walked in the direction Lysanna had taken off earlier. A group of people were thronged around what must be an interesting sight.

"What's happened here?" Glen asked curtly to one of the bystanders. The old Dunmer woman shrugged and said, "Just someone who got herself killed, is all."

Glen and Krag-Tal pushed their way through the crowd and saw her. Glen stood motionlessly, his mouth agape. The arrow was still in her eye, sticking upwards from her eye, that had deflated and turned into a yellow mass. Her mouth was covered in blood, that had apparently issued from her nose. Glen heard Krag-Tal mutter something and he saw the scaled Argonian bending over to pick something off the arrow that had killed Lysanna. Gasping, he read:

So Glen, it has come to this. Word travels fast in the Camonna Tong (even faster than a Recall-spell it would seem) and so we thought it'd be appropriate to give you a little warning. Why not come back to the Brotherhood and save yourself these problems? I'm sure the death of your little harlot will be nothing more than a small inconvenience for you, so we trust you'll get the message.

Glen still hadn't moved.

Glen was shocked yet somewhere deep inside he knew this would happen. "Krag-Tal... this is your fault. You do what you can for Lyssana, if she dies her blood is on your hands." Knowing that the danger wasn't over just yet he ran back to the wizards house. "Ok, field trips over, get whatever you can carry and get to the silt strider." As everyone left the house Glen suddenly dove onto the wizard. "What’s the meaning of this!?" he demanded. Glen simply ignored him for the meantime, got up and looked back towards the door. An arrow was now stuck to the door and vibrating from the force of being driven in the hard wood.

"Dammit... they’ve found me like I feared they would." Glen turned to everyone. "Follow me and we may yet escape, hurry!" They ran quickly behind the building and through a small pass only for Glen to stop suddenly before another arrow hit the wall in beside him. He turned around and led everyone around some more bends and alleyways. They were nearing the edge of town when Glen suddenly stopped once more peering out into the daylight. He motioned for everyone to be silent and after a small length of time seemed to have made up his mind.

Talk is only cheap if you have absolutely nothing else to do

"Glen, you can blame me all you want, but you KNOW this isn't my fault." Krag-Tal said in his defense. He thought about pursuing the matter, but he let it go. No need to argue right now. Especially now that we're all in danger of the same fate. For a minute, he was touched by grief when his gaze landed on Lysanna's body, but he shook it off. He'd seen a lot worse and lost much closer friends before. Then he remembered the sword Lysanna had from before. Not being one to miss out on a profit, he knelt by her body and pulled the green blade and its sheath from Lysanna's belt. He stared at it for a moment, but something hit him and what was left of his knight's honor as a Legionnaire took over. He took the sword and placed it on Lysanna's chest, and folded her hands over it. I'll have the villagers do a burial. We don't have time right now. He turned to Glen.

"Field trip it is then. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can get this pint-sized sorcerer, and ourselves, to safety." He took a quick look out the window of the hut. "You two go on ahead to the silt strider. I have something I need to do first. If you get into too much trouble, just head on without me and I'll find a way to catch up with you later." With that, he ran out the door and toward the hut of an old friend he'd had; one of the very few Dunmer he trusted.
