If this movie has been completed than why are they gonna wait so long to release it? Also I think I agree with that guy who thinks Obsessed is not a good title for the movie. Obsessed sounds like a title more suitable for a musical or a play.
This reminds me, I remember there was a film called Enough. That didn't sound like a good title either. I also wonder what that title had to do with the movie.

It only finished production in March, I guess it takes a while for post production etc to take place. Personally I prefer Wicker Park as the title too.
Haven't seen Enough, is that the one with J-Lo?

Hey u guys! I can't wait for this movie. Ya I definately like the title Wicker Park better than the title Obsessed. Here's an article about Josh Hartnett campaining for the name Wicker Park.

HARTNETT WANTS WICKER PARK

Hartnett’s next film is a smaller independent film. Currently titled Obsessed, Hartnett hopes the title changes to Wicker Park. “They're calling it Obsessed right now, but they're wrong. It's going to be called Wicker Park, which is such a better title, wouldn't you agree? Obsessed sounds like such a made for TV movie of the week and was probably on Lifetime at one point. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's just not [this]. I play a guy who's had his heart kind of torn from his chest and he moves away for about two years, and comes back to Chicago, to Wicker Park. He's engaged and he thinks he sees this woman who really broke his heart and he's not sure and so, he's trying to find her and it takes him a few days. It takes place over a few days.”

The film has a mostly unknown cast, which Hartnett thinks makes the film better. “His fiance is played by Jessica Pare and she's a Canadian actress from Montreal, Quebec and the girl that I'm obsessed with is Diane Kruger. We used girls who hadn't done movies in America yet because I don't like it when I see a movie, especially a drama like this where you see two stars and you know that they're going to get together. Then, they do and you're like, 'Oh, wow, how about that,' and so, we got girls that were virtually unknown here. This girl Diane Kruger and this girl Rose Byrne from Australia and Jessica Pare, they're all excellent. Matthew Lillard is in it also and he's making his first kind of dramatic turn and he's really, really good and this is going to be a really good film done by an excellent director named Paul McGuigan. I think that, if I have any say in the matter, it'll be called Wicker Park. So, I'm going to keep campaigning for that.”

Hey there, welcome to the boards

This does look like a great film, I can't wait either, I wish they would announce a release date, whatever it's going to be called! This article seems to confirm that Diane Kruger (who is Helen in Troy) is actually the girl Josh is obsessing over, not Rose, so I'm not sure how Rose's character in this movie fits in.

There is a review of this film at Dark Horizons (check news for Sat 9th August, scroll to bottom of page)

WARNING! - it is extremely negative and contains major spoilers. It was submitted by someone called 'Bonehead' so say no more...
You have been warned!

I didn't read any of the spoiler bits, if it's one of those convoluted plots with a twist (which I love btw), I would rather watch the film for myself

Found another review by someone who saw a preview screening of Wicker Park - this one is much better and has some wonderful things to say about Rose's role in the film.
Check it out HERE!

On the Lakeshore Entertainment website, they have a page for 'Wicker Park' - not a lot there at the moment but worth keeping an eye on...at the site click on 'Upcoming' then 'Wicker Park'

There are a couple of images from Wicker Park up at Latino Review - no Rose, just Josh Hartnett and Diane Kruger (I'm pretty sure it's her).

I couldn't resist the temptation to watch L'Appartement [The Apartment] on cable last night, the 1996 French film of which Wicker Park is a remake of. It was brilliant, great story, interesting in that it steps back and forth in time and from different characters perspectives, and a very dramatic and unexpected ending. I won't give anything away for those waiting for Wicker Park, but I must say that if Rose's character Alex is based on Alice in the original, if she nails this it could be the performance of her career.
I'm wondering just how close they will stick to the original script, it will be very interesting to see.

mjc71 do you know if L'Appartement [The Apartment] is what the movie is called in the United States? I really want to see that film but I don't know the name of it here.

L'Appartement is the original name of the film, in French. It is also known in English as The Apartment.
Here's the IMDb link to the film.
It was advertised on cable here in Australia as 'The Apartment', I guess it would be known as that in the US.
I noticed on the IMDb page the video & DVD is only available from Europe, not the US.
Good luck, I hope you do get to see it, it's worth it - even though I've possibly spoilt the Wicker Park story for myself!

This is from the Chicago Sun-Times, Jan 1, 2004:

THE WAITING-IN-THE-WINGS WONDER: Yes, we saw Josh Hartnett try to find a pulse in Ben Affleck in "Pearl Harbor," and then he had to do the heavy lifting to get Harrison Ford through "Hollywood Homicide." No longer bogged down by his elders, Hartnett branches out soon in "Wicker Park," a thriller shot in Chicago about a young man who falls deeply in love with a woman who vanishes for two years and then shows up again. Hopefully, Hartnett will get to show his real stuff this time.
