Byrne's partner, Alan Jones, winner of this year's Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship was there; it's back to France for them both as she won the inaugural scholarship in 1999. Byrne-ing up: Brett's mother Beryl Whiteley; Byrne's brother George (their sister is this month's Tatler cover girl: Rose Byrne: The Hottest Lips In Hollywood); 12-week-old William Palethorp; Australian Art Review editor Ruth Hessey, who, one imagines, can hum Edith Piaf tunes backward; and a whippet of a woman named Amanda Scheiff. Near neighbour, composer Peter Sculthorpe apparently enjoyed a preview the day before. |
