The 25-year-old actor has decided to follow the road most travelled by talented beautiful Aussie women -- straight to Britain. And the news from the beauty's perfect life is that Byrne has set up home in Hackney, London. Byrne is the proud owner of a three-bedroom Victorian house with her 32-year-old sister Lucy. "I have made the decision to base myself in Britain and I have bought a three-bedroomed Victorian house with a little garden, not far from Hackney's main street," she said. "It's really pretty, I can't wait to move in." Byrne is on small screens across Britain with the BBC dramatisation of Casanova. Last year, she played Brad Pitt's love interest in the historical epic Troy. The Sydney girl began taking drama classes at the age of eight and got her first professional job at 13. She has starred opposite Heath Ledger in the Australian film Two Hands and Natalie Portman in Star Wars: Episode II. She is due to begin work on Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola's movie Marie Antoinette. But Byrne said she remained down to earth, with her feet firmly on the ground. "You have to remember it is about your work, not about how you look," she said. "My mother always said to me that it didn't matter what the outside looked like, it was what was going on inside your head that counted." |
