Australian actress ROSE BYRNE fears her car is costing her jobs in Hollywood.

The TROY star drives a "rent-a-wreck" motor with no air conditioning to auditions, which she believes makes her look a mess when she arrives at prospective jobs.

She explains, "When I get out of the car I'm drenched in sweat, my make-up's off, my hair's a mess, I've been cursing like a mad woman because I'm so hot and bothered."

So, Byrne insists she's going to treat herself to a brand new car when she returns home to West Hollywood after promoting her new film WICKER PARK.

Troy star Rose Byrne is looking for a new home in Hollywood after a series of "incidents" at the apartment she's been sharing with a male friend.

"I left the front door open one day. My flatmate came home and ... it moved right open," said the Aussie, who played Brad Pitt's slave lover in the epic.

"Then I accidentally slept in his bed when he was in New York. He has a big king-size bed and I came home and I was a bit out of it, I think.

"I'd had a hard day."

But the final blow came after Byrne, 25, threw herself a birthday party.

"In the morning we were cleaning up the party and there was trash everywhere, and my housemate sat on the couch and looked down and there was this damp patch, and it was vomit," she said.

"He just said, `I don't want this any more. I'm 35. I'm not in college. It's not working out.' So I've been asked to leave."
